What to expect:

Nestlé Health Science offers a 10-week paid internship program in the Technical Applications Group. The Technical Services Intern will assist in formulating nutritional supplement products in various forms (Tablets, Capsules, Belnds) in support of the Bohemia and Leonia Manufacturing facility. The Technical Services Intern will work under the direction of the appointed Specialists and Director to collect, evaluate, analyze, and summarize data addressing manufacturing issues. The Technical Services Intern will evaluate new ingredients, technology, and ways to optimize the manufacturing process to seek cost savings. The Technical Services Intern will adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

 

Location:

  • Role is based in a Manufacturing facility located in Bohemia, NY and Leonia, NJ. Must be able to commute between Bohemia, NY and Leonia, NJ. for the duration of the internship.

Education Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Physics or other related field is required 
  • Degree completed by June 2025 or June 2026
  • Preferred Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

Responsibilities:

  • The Technical Services intern’s primary responsibility during the internship period is to work safely in a GMP environment in a professional manner and communicate effectively with associates at all levels as necessary.
  • The Technical Services Intern will be responsible for familiarizing with the Blending, Tableting and Encapsulation process of nutritional supplement products.
  • Responsible for collecting and evaluating data on blend, tablet, and capsule products to co-author technical summaries. Associate Specialist intern will use a variety of tools and programs to retrieve and analyze the data as needed.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing including but not limited to the formulation process or process improvement, cost savings initiatives and troubleshooting.
  • Assisting with the qualification of new raw materials and new specifications, master batch records implementation, change controls, deviations, and other required documentation in support of manufacturing existing products.

Additional Requirements:

  • Available to start the program beginning June 2024
  • Demonstrate the ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively.
  • Self-starters who are result-oriented, analytical, innovative, intellectually curious and who take initiative and risks.
  • Excellent communicators (both written and verbal) who encourage others and excel in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly, embrace change, and thrive in a fast-paced, environment.

The approximate target compensation range for this role is $25.75. Please note that the pay provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
