Position Summary:
As an Associate Chemist, you will play a vital role in performing routine laboratory procedures. Your responsibilities will include conducting various tests and analyses under general supervision. To excel in this role, you should have a strong familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and techniques. Your focus will primarily be on conducting less complex testing and providing valuable support functions to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:
- Performs routine testing of samples according to established procedures.
- Capable of independently operating instruments and apparatus. Prepares solutions, suspensions and media to perform essential laboratory procedures.
- Records data, performs calculations, and evaluates and reports results. Performs peer review of data and keeps management apprised of progress.
- Follow all Data Integrity guidelines
- Follow Good Laboratory Practices and Good Documentation Practices
- Prioritizes workload and meets scheduled timelines.
- Informs management of equipment and supply needs required to avoid delays in testing.
- Follows and complies with all and testing procedures, operating procedures, GMPs, and safety and health requirements as applicable.
- Demonstrates good housekeeping practices.
- Practices safe handling of hazardous materials and waste using proper and techniques.
- Selected qualified associates, at the discretion of the Quality Control/Quality Management, will be responsible for handling hazardous waste management.
- Conducts laboratory investigations as needed.
- Periodically performs duties of a higher position for the purpose of training and development.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as required based on business need or management decisions.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or closely relate discipline preferred or substantial experience in a relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- 0-4 years of experience in an analytical laborator
- Minimum 1 year of experience - Work experience would be preferred
- Experience with testing instruments such as HPLC, UPLC and ICP OES . Additionally, experience with water-soluble testing would be considered a valuable asset.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills
- Basic analytical skills
- General computer skills
- Must have basic proficiency of English language to comply with verbal directions, signs, policies and procedures
- Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish and shellfish)
The approximate pay range for this position is $62,400.00 to $67,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
