POSITION SUMMARY:

 

As a Chemist, you will play a vital role in conducting routine laboratory procedures within our top-notch quality control laboratory. We are in search of a candidate who possesses a strong foundation in basic laboratory equipment and can confidently demonstrate expertise in one or more analytical instrumentation techniques, such as HPLC, UPLC, UPLC-MS, GC, GC-MS, ICP-OES, or ICP-MS.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Performs routine testing of samples according to established procedures.  Performs testing in support of special projects as needed.
  • Capable of independently operating laboratory instruments based on appropriate procedures. Prepares solutions, suspensions and media to perform essential laboratory tasks.  Is able to demonstrate effective troubleshooting of at least one testing technique.
  • Records data, performs calculations, evaluates and reports results.   Performs peer review of data and provides critical analysis of laboratory systems.  Keeps management apprised of progress.
  • Follow all Data Integrity guidelines.
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Prioritizes workload and meets scheduled timelines, including managing multiple priorities.
  • Informs supervisor of equipment and supply needs required to avoid delays in testing.
  • Follows and complies with all and testing procedures, operating procedures, GMPs, and safety and health requirements as applicable.
  • Demonstrates good housekeeping practices.
  • Practices safe handling of hazardous materials and waste using proper and techniques.
  • Selected qualified associates, at the discretion of Quality Control/Quality Management, will be responsible for handling hazardous waste management.
  • Conducts laboratory investigations as needed, including assisting in evaluation of others work.
  • Trains other analysts on testing procedures.
  • Periodically performs duties of a higher position for the purpose of training and development
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:


•    3 - 7 years experience in the food, pharmaceutical and or supplement industry preferred
•    Knowledge of regulatory requirements that affect the dietary supplement and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing business
•    Experience with at least two analytical instrumentation types preferred: HPLC, UPLC, UPLC-MS, GC, GC-MS, ICP-OES, or ICP-MS. Experience with Empower software preferred.
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemistry.  Other closely related disciplines with extensive significant experience will be considered.
•    Verbal and written communication skills.  
•    Strong analytical skills with capacity for working with and communicating data trends.
•    Proficiency with PC programs that are applicable to data generation and manipulation.
•    Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
•    Strong organizational skills; including ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
•    Ability to work collaboratively within teams.
•    Ability to maintain effectiveness during major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures
•    Continuously look for ways to do things faster and better, while maintaining high quality standards
•    Is creative and intellectually curious; tries different and novel ways to solve obstacles.

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $70,000.00 to $85,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
