Position Summary:

 

The Specialist Materials - Production Planning & Deployment is responsible for purchasing materials (finished good components), executing the firm master schedule within the planning time fence, and the daily review of current and short-term inventory level projections. This includes coordinating with the Planning Team and Site Operation as well as works with all Vendors, Brand Managers, and Procurement.  The Specialist Materials- Production Planning & Deployment reviews the master plan, purchases required materials, and balances orders to successfully execute the production schedule.  This is a onsite position , M-F located at our Bohemia, NY factory location.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Purchases all finished good components
  • Supports planning site annual goals including CSL and inventory KPIs
  • Tracks orders and conduct vendor communication to ensure timely delivery
  • Coordinates daily production schedules for factory
  • Maintains inventory levels based on provided targets
  • Analyzes factory planning master schedule to integrate into the plant’s capabilities and constraints
  • Collaborate with internal customers and suppliers to prioritize and deliver materials on time and in full
  • Monitors and analyzes information to ensure adequate inventory of components and bulk and initiate transfers or additional supply as needed
  • Resolves issues and problems, escalating complex situations to Manager
  • Collaborates with internal teams to ensure product availability and consumer satisfaction
  • Responsible for identification of counter measures for issues, with escalation to Central Planning Manager
  • Makes experience based and data driven decisions that aim to minimize service risk in scenarios with imperfect solutions 
  • Provides forward-looking production requirements to Procurement/Suppliers
  • Works closely with Factory and Transportation teams to ensure production deployment is completed timely and reduces need for future re-deployment
  • Utilizes SAP, BI, and Excel-based reports to analyze products and provide recommendations
  • Identifies the need to expedite inventory movement and facilitate process with cross functional partners
  • Builds Stock Transfer Orders (STOs) according to aligned cut-off times
  • Creates ad hoc excel reports to problem-solve and communicate up

 

Requirements:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Highly desired: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or comparable
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience , preferably with Supply Chain expertise in the Consumer Packaged Goods ( CPG) industry 
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP planning tools, specifically SAP preferred
  • Experience in coordinating supply planning activities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

 

 

Skills:

 

  • Strong multi-tasking, follow-up, and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to identify and assess problems and help develop solutions
  • Proactive and results oriented within a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work both collaboratively within teams and independently to achieve goals

 

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $65,000- $75,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
