Position Summary
We are looking for a Sales Finance Manager on the Grocery Customer Development Team based out of our Brampton, Ontario office. This role provides financial leadership within the Customer Development (Sales) stream and serves as a key contributor to overall generating demand and revenue management initiatives.
A day in the life of a Sales Finance Manager:
• Develop an understanding of the customer’s financial and operational drivers
• Collaborate with sales leadership team to support financial goals and business objectives
• Optimize trade spend investments; enable pre and post evaluation (financial & commercial) and make recommendations to plan. Develop fact-based solutions for revisions to the annual business plans that, once implemented, optimize the customer contribution statement.
• Manage timely and accurate reporting and analytics tools and lead digital transformation and operational improvement projects for the team.
• Monitor financial KPI’s for the CDT and co-develop action plans; actively participate in the customer team weekly and monthly operational review
• Support the execution of SRM (Strategic Revenue Management) initiatives.
• Provide financial support in customer negotiations.
• Act as custodian of internal controls and assurance that trade spend practices comply with internal and external guidelines.
• Lead monthly trade spend review by providing trade spend evolution by key customer/category.
• Act as a key resource person for Deduction Trade Analysts, Order to Cash and Non-Trade deduction teams, enhancing the delivery of accurate commercial trade investments.
• Support and facilitate any internal and external audits related to sales finance.
What will make you successful?
• A university degree or equivalent experience in Business or Finance is required, completion of MBA, CFA or CPA is an asset.
• 5-6+ years of collective progressive experience covering multiple areas of finance. Prior experience in sales finance is an asset.
• CPG, eCommerce experiences are highly valued; commercial understanding is critical.
• Proficient in Advanced Excel and skilled in Power BI, with a keen interest in RPA, Machine Learning, and AI tools. Previous experience in digital and automation projects is an asset.
• Mastery in the following professional/technical competencies: using analytics to drive insight, relevant business processes, internal control systems, financial modelling, risk management.
• Strong communication skills, including presentation of financial information to non-financial users; relationship builder, with the ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally.
• A mindset focused on continuous improvement and a strong sense of curiosity.
