Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading all maintenance functions required to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant facility and equipment operations. This role provides direct supervision to approximately 3–8 hourly employees and plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting a proactive, planned maintenance culture. The position has a direct impact on operational performance, safety, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
- Lead maintenance activities supporting utilities, chillers, compressed air, electrical services, and building maintenance.
- Drive reduction of planned and unplanned downtime through preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Monitor equipment performance trends and recommend improvements using best maintenance practices.
- Support life cycle asset management, loss elimination, and risk management initiatives.
- Manage work orders, labor hour allocation, technical stores, and equipment Bills of Material (BOM).
- Ensure compliance with government regulatory and environmental requirements.
- Provide 24/7 operational support as needed, including nights and weekends.
Supervisory & Leadership Responsibilities
- Directly supervise and develop maintenance team members through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure high-quality execution of repairs and modifications resulting from audits, assessments, or gap analyses.
- Oversee accurate job planning, material coordination, and contractor services.
- Ensure proper documentation of equipment history, root cause analysis, and damage coding.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Promote Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) standards and best practices across sites.
- Collaborate with engineering, safety, quality, suppliers, contractors, and corporate partners.
- Support capital projects including installation, modification, and renovation of equipment and facilities.
- Participate in annual budget preparation and cost optimization initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Reliability, Chemical, or related field) preferred or Trade school certification and equivalent work experience.
Experience
- Prior experience in maintenance supervision, planning, or reliability preferred.
- CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) certification preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong technical and leadership capabilities with the ability to lead and develop teams.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Understanding of food safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- On-call and flexible scheduling required to support continuous operations.
