Position Summary:
Identify and maintain sourcing for new and existing contract manufactured food products. Assuring timely delivery of finished products, which meet required specifications, cost targets, and volume requirements. Assure timely delivery of finished goods production, deliver on cost targets, execute annual cost reductions and help to ensure Finished Goods meet the required specifications.  Develop and maintain business relationships with Contract Manufacturers responsible for manufacturing NHS Finished Goods. Act as a liaison and single point of contact between Contract Manufacturers and the functional departments.         

 

Location: This position will be either a remote or hybrid role based on the selected candidate’s geographic location. Strong preference will be given to applicants who live within a commutable distance of Bridgewater, New Jersey.  


 
Key Responsibilities:
• Develops and refreshes the operating strategy for specified domestic contract operations for the assigned manufacturing format, which includes a detailed analysis of each external manufacturer as well as the development and on-going maintenance of the contract operations sourcing pipeline for new and existing products.

• Works closely with other Contract Ops Account Managers and internal customers such as R&D, QA, Supply Chain Operations and Operations Business teams to determine manufacturing capabilities which are needed externally.

• Identifies outside manufacturers that are capable of producing required products consistent with established quality and regulatory requirements and within established cost parameters.

• Negotiates contracts that provide the overall best value to the company and establishes key performance indicators for each external manufacturer to drive continuous improvement and reduction in total delivered cost.

• Responsible for the development and communication links between the external manufacturer and the key internal interfaces.

• Develop/operate from detailed project plans to insure time line for launches and/or customer shipments are met.

• Identify and share best practices across the internal and external supply chain network resulting in continuous improvement of product quality and productivity.

• Ensure compliance with guidelines as outlined in the Nestle standard for contract manufacturers through frequent touch points and visits.

• Responsible and key contributor to the Make or Buy analysis with inputs form the respective functional areas.  

• Conduct Annual Business Reviews with applicable Contract Manufacturing locations.

• Participate in annual Quality Audits at each applicable Contract Manufacturing location.

• Aid Procurement team in regards to ensuring supply  

 

Experience and Education Requirements:
• University graduate in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field; 
• 7+ years of food or dietary supplement manufacturing experience in supply chain, plant operations, purchasing, engineering, or sourcing/contract manufacturing experience. 
• Must have ability to work with customers at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
• Travel 25%

 

Preferred Skills:
• Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities 
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines. 
• Experience developing, implementing, and sustaining processes. 
• Capable of holding Contract Food Manufacturers accountable for meeting production supply requirements while adhering to cost expectations. 
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and reconciliation abilities. 
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers, ability to analyze and infer data, and capable of interpreting contract language. 
• Excellent relationship management skills with both external and internal constituents. 
• Operates independently and leads activities with little directions. 
• Experience interpreting and implementing technical changes (i.e. process, equipment, etc.) in a manufacturing environment 
• Ability to translate Nestle requirements into Contract Food Manufacturer's terms and systems 
• Strong ability to influence internal and external partners to elevate performance against goals 
• Demonstrated ability to identify issues and develop comprehensive action plans for resolution 
• Working knowledge of FDA requirements for food.

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $120,000.00 to $135,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
