Position Summary:
The External Auditor executes risk-based audits of contract manufacturers (Co-Mans), raw material suppliers, and packaging suppliers to ensure compliance with organizational Quality Standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable industry standards.

 

This role identifies risks, drives corrective actions, and strengthens supplier quality performance across the supply network through independent, objective assessments.    

 
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and conduct on-site and remote audits of external manufacturing sites and suppliers
• Define audit scope, objectives, and criteria aligned with risk priorities
• Execute audits through documentation review, process observation, and personnel interviews
• Assess compliance with Nestlé standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
• Identify, classify, and document nonconformities and risks
• Prepare clear, evidence-based audit reports and communicate findings to stakeholders
• Review and verify supplier corrective action plans (CAPAs)
• Track findings to closure and escalate critical issues
• Support risk-based audit program development and continuous improvement 

 

Experience and Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent experience 
• 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, or auditing
• Experience auditing suppliers or contract manufacturing sites preferred
• Working knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 111 regulations
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and dietary supplement data integrity and maintenance
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and quality management systems
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks, including FDA, food safety, and dietary supplement requirements
• Auditor certification (for example, ISO Lead Auditor or ASQ CQA) preferred
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
• Strong observation and investigative skills
• Effective communication and influencing skills
• Ability to work independently and make evidence-based decisions
• Frequent travel required
• On-site presence in manufacturing environments
• Exposure to GMP production facilities  #LI-SF1

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $70,000.00 to $80,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
