Job Description: 

The Materials Planning Manager will manage, guide and develop all Supply Chain functions within the MRP Planning function in order to meet production and business needs at required performance levels and at optimized costs.  This is done through the tools and methodology of Nestle Continuous Excellence model focused heavily on building a lean function as part of the total Lean Enterprise

As the Materials Planning Manager, you will also be responsible for the alignment of the supply plan for materials planning. Working alongside the Procurement team, you will interface with vendors to collaborate on supply plans and inventory requirements and manage the Print Shop Supply Strategy. This is a People Leader role and this position is also a remote-based opportunity. 

Responsibilities: 

•    Serve as the VMHS Center of Supply functional expert for all MRP related systems and processes.
•    Develop and facilitate implementation of strategic roadmap for Materials Scheduling initiatives and projects.
•    Act as liaison between factory, Procurement, Technical and Production, Transportation, Technical Applications Group, Supply Planning, etc. to drive cross-functional process improvements.
•    Create and maintain training documentation and plans materials scheduling.
•    Serve as escalation point for critical MRP-related process and system issues.
•    Monitor packaging stock levels and lead stock policy discussions with Factories. 
•    Monitor health of MRP master data (e.g., safety stock, safety time, GRPT) in factories and work with Materials Schedulers to continuously improve and optimize scheduling/plans. 
•    Run MRP health checks and work with factory teams to address corrective.
•    Own and continuously improve process and tools to mitigate expiring materials risk. 
•    Monitor Material Requirements Accuracy (MRA) and coordinate with both the Procurement and Planning teams to address major opportunities.
•    Coach and develop team members and ensure environment for optimal performance.
•    Manages material forecasts resulting from enterprise-wide planning activities including S&OP, demand planning, rough cut capacity planning and supply planning. 
•    Analyze monthly changes and communicate significant material changes to the plan to internal and external stakeholders.
•    Participate in integrated supply planning activities to improve Demand, Supply, and Material forecast accuracy.
•    Develop material plans for new product launches and manage obsolescence of materials resulting from SKU rationalization.
•    Collaborate with procurement leaders to shift strategies on spot vs contract buying and related inventory policies and practices in response to market conditions.
•    Analyze and support overall space constraints and outside warehouses used for material including inventory at both Co-Manufacturers and Co-Packers.
•    Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by Line Manager. 
 

Requirements: 
 

•    High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or in a related field required. 
•    5+ years of relevant work experience in Supply Chain Management including Supply Planning.  
•    Procurement or in a related field required, preferably in a Manufacturing or Factory-based environment in the CPG, Pharmaceutical or Nutraceutical industries.
•    2+ years of People Leadership experience in leading, motivating, coaching and influencing teams and direct reports required.  
•    Demonstrated fluency in MS Office (Word/Outlook/PowerPoint) and also in MS Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Charts, Graphs, etc.) required. 
•    Must possess excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, time management and stakeholder management skills (including the ability to develop and maintain strong, cross-functional stakeholder relationships). 
•    Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to both analyze and interpret data, story tell and build quantitative models of business problems required. 
•    Willing and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and business priorities with minimal supervision. 
•    Must possess creative thinking skills and problem-solving skills to solve key business challenges. 
•    Ability to establish and implement processes and systems to improve working methods within the team and the organization (inspiring change management). 
•    Experience with CRM or ERP systems including SAP, Power BI or other systems required.  
•    Willing and able to travel up to 15% based on the needs of the team and the business required. 
 

The approximate pay range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as geographic location.

Job Description:
