Your Role

The General Manager of Persona will own architecting the brand strategy, positioning, and growth agenda for the business, as well as full P&L management and oversight of the Executive Leadership Team.  This will include the development of overarching business strategies and integrated campaigns, under both the master brand umbrella, as well as strategic choices around product line-up, innovation pipeline and channel/ consumer development leveraging data analytics, forecast planning and leading-edge consumer insights to influence and drive incremental growth, as well as be responsive to the ever-changing business and consumer needs. This role is for a visionary leader who can build and develop teams that are known for having passion for wellness and DTC strategies. The ideal candidate will have a track record of driving results in a DTC-oriented business, while developing a strong collaborative team. This role will report to the President of Emerging Brands.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the General Manager at Persona to develop and commercialize multi-year growth strategy
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the development of strategic plans for the brand, setting the brand vision, delineating key business priorities, understanding and setting up the growth drivers with a clear path to successful execution
  • Foster a continuous improvement environment related to unit economics of the business, maximizing LTV of customer base and providing profitable growth in pursuit of Persona’s short and long-range financial targets
  • Cultivate the obsession with the user experience across the Persona program to drive retention of subscription, incremental AOV/CM%, program compliance and positive reviews
  • Effectively guide Supply Chain, R&D, Nutritionist, Tech Development and Customer Care priorities to ensure strong service metrics for personalization subscribers
  • Promote a high data environment to build momentum and expand channels through consumer and competitive environment understanding
  • Own resource allocation to various priorities across the entire business to balance growth and profitability

 

People Management:

  • Demonstrate servant leadership while developing and managing high performing teams, someone who people want to learn from, work with, and are inspired by to bring forward ideas and transform the business
  • Must be able to build a team that is ‘all-in’ on the brand ambition and is fueled to achieve results
  • Lead by example to motivate and inspire team to exceed high performance targets
  • Actively communicate expectations and provide regular feedback against those expectations
  • Conduct the performance management process, working with each team member to evaluate performance, provide feedback and training
  • Work with each team member to build appropriate development plans and ensures that the training activities achieve agreed upon objectives
  • Participate in talent recruitment and selection to staff the organizations with the best people for current jobs
  • Foster the sharing of best practices
  • Ensure retention of quality and key professionals to drive long-term business results

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of strategic business management experience in progressively responsible leadership roles
  • Held general management or functional leadership role in a Direct-to-Consumer environment
  • Direct experience in the categories of, or surrounding, vitamins, minerals, supplements and herbs
  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA/Master’s degree preferred
  • Extensive people leadership experience with the ability to be a servant leader and influence/build culture and teams while operating in a highly collaborative environment with cross functional teams
  • Strong business and financial acumen, solid understanding of the P&L, key drivers of top-line growth and margin enhancement tactics
  • Ability to build, lead and evaluate short and long-term business and communication strategies plans and activities aligned with broad company objectives
  • Experience in driving transformation efforts with proven results in delivering strong sales and profit growth
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial drive and ability to be a self-starter that can think “outside the box”
  • Proactive, articulate leader with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Brand portfolio strategy & positioning experience
