POSITION SUMMARY: As a Data Science Intern for Nestlé Health Sciences USA, you will support the Data and Analytics team in various data science initiatives. This role will provide you with the opportunity to learn and apply analytical techniques, work with predictive algorithms, and contribute to projects aimed at driving growth and innovation within the organization. Internships at Nestlé are designed to be a potential pathway to full-time employment, allowing you to showcase your skills and dedication while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic work environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the development and execution of data analysis projects that identify growth opportunities and insights.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing analytical tools and models.
- Collaborate with team members to integrate consumer insights into data-driven recommendations.
- Participate in the testing and implementation of advanced analytics methods to derive actionable insights.
- Help in the rapid prototyping of analytical solutions and technologies.
- Contribute to the generation of innovative solutions that address business needs.
- Work closely with senior data scientists to understand and fulfill the analytics requirements of various projects.
- Assist in visualizing and presenting data findings to stakeholders using tools like PowerBI and Tableau.
- Engage in learning opportunities to develop your skills in data science and analytics.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Basic understanding of business operations and the role of data analytics in driving business decisions.
- Familiarity with data science concepts and machine learning techniques (e.g., Regression, Clustering, Decision Trees).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as R, Python, or SAS.
- Ability to interpret and analyze data for statistical research and modeling.
- Experience or coursework in data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for working with data.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey insights and findings.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently pursuing a master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with programming languages and analytical tools through academic projects or internships.
- Previous internship experience in data analysis or related fields is a plus, but not required.
- Interest in the consumer goods industry preferred.
