We are looking for someone who will bring their creativity and critical thinking skills to inspire new product concepts and communicate their benefits.  This internship is an exciting opportunity to make an impact on the R&D innovation process by connecting innovation teams with market landscaping analysis and consumer feedback to aid in designing and communicating new products. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market landscaping analysis to inspire ideation and aid in product and package design decision making
  • Support quick-connect consumer research through screener design, discussion guides, online platform and IDI moderation

 

Specific Activities:

 

 

  • Create “Product and Package Design Opportunity Summaries” to guide innovation projects or platforms
    • Identify relevant marketed products both within and outside our business categories; analyze and summarize key design attributes 
    • Capture consumer sentiment through targeted analysis of consumer reviews, blogs and other social media communication
    • Integrate information from a variety of sources: secondary research, primary research, marketed product information and supplier insights
    • Coordinate and lead category immersion sessions with cross functional project teams – this includes sourcing and preparing documentation and samples, hosting the session and capturing observations and decisions from team

 

  • Work closely with consumers and consumer data
    • Work with external consumer research agencies to create recruiting screeners and program consumer activity guides
    • Connect directly consumers through online discussion boards and depth interviews
    • Extract patterns and themes from consumer interactions

 

Experience

  • Some experience in the CPG industry preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of a variety social media platforms

  • Strong interest in new product innovation and the fast-paced consumer products industry
  • Interest in consumer trends
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Creative thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to self-manage, juggle multiple priorities, and pay attention to details
