POSITION SUMMARY
Intern will support digital transformation activities to better streamline & simplify product development activities. As part of this role, the intern will propose and execute a design of experiments to provide data to create a predictive tool/model. In addition, the intern may also engage in literature research, recipe development & testing, trial planning and execution, data analysis, and report writing – supporting daily activities within product development.
Key Responsibilities:
Active participation in Digital Transformation team
Collaboration with data scientist to generate predictive model
Trial planning / execution at lab & bench scale. This will include design of experiments
Interaction with analytical lab and sensory to assess impact of ingredients on final product
Data collection and analysis
Report writing
Literature search (internal and external data bases)
Experience
Some experience within food science or data science application preferred, but not required.
Skills
- Self-starters who are result-oriented, analytical, innovative, intellectually curious and who take initiative and risks.
- Excellent communicators (both written and verbal) who encourage others and excel in a team environment.
- Ability to learn quickly, embrace change, and thrive in a fast-paced, environment.
- Knowledge of scientific design and capable of executing a design of experiments
- Food science principles preferred
- Programming or data management skills preferred
Areas of Study/Majors
- Engineering preferred: general engineering, chemical engineering, biological systems engineering
- Food Science, Culinary Science, Chemistry
