Position Summary: 
Contribute and propose new projects/ideas/activities/solutions to NPTC NHSc, SBUs and Operations. Build and document knowledge and share latest methods, trends and developments in the fields of hydrocolloids, functional polysaccharides, prebiotics and fibers. Integrate basic knowledge in the design of experiments and data interpretation. Use AI and new technologies to design the next generation of healthy & functional hydrocolloids/carbohydrates/fibers/prebiotics.  
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage discovery projects on hydrocolloids, functional carbohydrates, novel prebiotics, fibers and botanicals. Present outcomes to key stakeholders in the business and R&D units
• Apply advanced science in biochemistry to develop differentiating structured food based on emulsification techniques, gel, fluid gel, foaming, crystallization, coating etc. delivering new consumer experience in the healthcare space.
• Work as part of a large cross functional team and a cross different Nestlé R&D locations 
• Translate discoveries into new food and supplement concepts in line with consumer trends & needs
• Work in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) 
• Coach students and interns to accelerate innovation projects       

 

Experience and Education Requirements:
• PhD in Biochemistry, food science or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in Food or pharma industry - experience in hydrocolloids, gummies, gels, tablets, texturizers, delivery formats
• Ability to work autonomously with a strong team spirit  
• Flexible, hands on, open-minded, problem-solving mindset and passion for innovation
