POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Specialist-Certifications & Retail Testing ensures product and brand compliance by leading third-party certification and retailer testing programs. This role drives compliance readiness across products, sites, and projects through certification oversight, testing coordination, documentation management, and risk identification, helping protect product quality, maintain retailer and certification requirements, and support business continuity.

Work Location: Remote (U.S.) with strong preference for candidates located near a Nestlé manufacturing facility or business location, including Bridgewater, NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Certification Compliance Projects (50%)

• Support certification compliance initiatives across brands, products, manufacturing/packaging sites, and business transitions
• Review products, labels, formulations, ingredients, and related documentation against certification requirements; identify gaps and coordinate corrective actions
• Partner with internal teams, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and certifying agencies to support applications, renewals, audits, and compliance milestones
• Maintain certification records, trackers, approvals, and documentation; monitor timelines, communicate status, and escalate compliance risks

Retail Testing Program (50%)

• Manage retailer testing activities, including requirement review, SKU tracking, submissions, sample coordination, and follow-up
• Prepare and submit product documentation, specifications, certificates, test reports, and supporting materials to retailers and laboratories
• Review testing results, identify potential compliance gaps or out-of-specification findings, and escalate issues for resolution
• Maintain testing records, retailer portal data, approvals, and due dates while analyzing trends, supporting audit readiness, and driving continuous improvement

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Biological Sciences, Engineering, or a related field required; equivalent education and experience may be considered
• 3+ years of experience in specification management, quality, regulatory affairs, product development, manufacturing, technical services, or master data within a regulated industry
• Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, quality systems, food safety principles, and applicable food, dietary supplement, or regulated product requirements
• Experience supporting dietary supplements, foods, medical nutrition, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated consumer products
• Experience with SAP, specification management, product lifecycle management (PLM), document management systems, or similar enterprise platforms
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Visio or equivalent tools)
• Working knowledge of document control, label/specification review, compliance programs, and supporting third-party certification programs; including but not limited to Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Kosher, Halal, Vegan, Organic, NSF, and other certification schemes; retailer testing experience preferred
• Familiarity with FDA regulations, dietary supplements, food products, certification audits, and corrective action processes preferred

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing high-volume, SKU-level, and project-based activities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and compliance requirements while driving projects to completion
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills, with sound judgment and timely escalation of issues
• Ability to interpret requirements, communicate clearly, and translate complex information into actionable guidance for cross-functional partners
• Collaborative self-starter who works effectively across functions and quickly adapts to new systems, tools, and processes
• Experience with quality systems, certification databases, retailer portals, and digital record management preferred

Salary: $80,142.12 to $112,854.10 per year

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
