POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Analyst of Customer Development will primarily partner with the Director of Customer Development to support brand strategy, reporting and planning at Costco to continuously drive and grow sales strategic plans and goals for the customer.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain clear understanding of customer objectives, and liaise with Director and Manager of Customer Development to develop operational plans to manage execution and measure results. 
  • Assist in preparing for sales, customer, and internal meetings for portfolio.
  • Support the Director and Manager of Customer Development in day to day sales activities as needed.
  • Support development and execution of target Budget plan and new product distribution goals.
  • Support the Costco business aligned to its high-volume, limited SKU model, focusing on item productivity, member value, and operational excellence.
  • With guidance and assistance, identify new opportunities for growth in accordance with corporate goals focusing on new distribution opportunities both in warehouse and online.
  • Focus on understanding of the Costco ecommerce strategy while monitoring and updated content across the portfolio.
  • Educate our business partners on our products, retail goals, and measurement of success.
  • Support CDM’s in the setup, maintenance and execution of new/existing items.
  • Monthly reporting on shipment and trade spend to drive forecast accuracy and maximize sales efficiency.
  • Monthly reporting regarding Competitive distribution/pricing at Costco.
  • Monthly reporting on competitive market performance and trends; converting data into actionable insights.
  • Track Costco member product feedback data to identify trends and support root cause analysis.

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience including sales experience and/or syndicated data supplier /software user is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in consumer goods and Vitamins and Supplements is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting Costco or club channel business preferred.
  • Prior experience using syndicated data to determine customer needs and establish the most effective pricing and promotional activities that will increase sales and market share for the company and its customers.
  • Knowledge regarding Project Management, and experience with setting up and managing projects in a complex, fast-moving environment.
  • Experience with Power BI or other BI reporting tool required.

 

SKILLS:

  • Strong business acumen: Has a sound understanding of financial business processes and P&L analysis.
  • Analytics: Ability to leverage data and processes to identify areas to maximize profit and improve process.
  • Communication skills: Able to easily communicate plan, reports, ideas and concepts to cross functional teams and management.
  • Presentation: Prepare and successfully present detailed analysis to cross functional teams.
  • Planning: Interpret data trends and forecast trade promotion budget to prepare and support a detailed annual business plans.
  • Problem solving: Solves problems by gathering the appropriate facts and applying analytical tools. Uses teamwork to maximize the results.
  • Systems Proficiency: Advanced MS Office knowledge (Excel, Access, Powerpoint), Experienced in Power BI report development, SAP Business Objects and IRI Liquid Data. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed.
  • Problem solver with a solutions-oriented mindset.

 

This position will be either a remote or hybrid role based on the selected candidate’s geographic location. Strong preference will be given to applicants who live within a commutable distance of Bridgewater, New Jersey. 

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
