Position Summary


This role is responsible for helping lead development of the Nestlé Health Science Consumer Care pipeline and delivering innovation aligned to the business strategy.  The person will leverage a wide range of resources to identify opportunities to build the business with specific focus on BOOST Glucose Control, IBgard, Fiber Choice and REMfresh.  Responsibilities include strategic assessment of market opportunities, trend tracking, white space exploration, concept validation, developing P&Ls and leading the innovation process working closely with brand teams to plan a successful launch.  While the role is focused on Consumer Care, there is a strong partnership with Medical Nutrition as there are often opportunities to lead transversal projects that bridge the businesses.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pipeline Development
    • Manage the assessment and prioritization of existing and proposed new product opportunities for Consumer Care with focus on BOOST GC, Gut Health brands and REMfresh
    • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and global category teams to lead ideation activities, recommend market research, establish product profiles, identify success hurdles and make launch recommendations 
    • Evaluate, develop and lead transversal initiatives bridging Consumer Care and Medical Nutrition
    • Develop and lead ideation workshops and activities
    • Track internal and external new product activity and implications for Nestle Health Science
    • Provide strategic assessments and recommendations of ad hoc new product opportunities 
    • Lead or support commercial assessment of business development opportunities (i.e., acquisition, licensing, partnership) 
  • Capability Development
    • Lead and support development and implementation of new approaches to driving and delivering innovation (e.g. new white space exploration methods, new business models, leveraging digital for insights, an internal innovation incubator)
  • Project Leadership
    • Lead teams to develop new products by defining the market opportunity and product profile, developing research plans, building the P&L, identifying and managing hurdles to success, and providing internal updates
    • Drive launch excellence commercialization efforts via regular cross-functional team meetings to resolve issues and engage senior management for updates/decisions
    • Provide appropriate communication to internal and external stakeholders regarding launch/market rollout of new initiatives 
  • PROJECT TRACKING & MONITORING
    • Accountable for key project metrics (scope, schedule, cost, financial targets, compliance and adherence to governance process) and providing updates to management

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: 
    • 5+ years experience in brand management at a healthcare or food/beverage company with a demonstrated track record of new product concept development, validation and launches.  
    • Experience in gut health, sleep, or diabetic categories a plus, but not required.
  • Education: 
    • MBA 
  • Soft Skills Needed:
    • Ability to identify cultural, consumer/HCP, or business insights 
    • Big picture and expansive thinking
    • HCP & consumer focused
    • Strong interpersonal working relationships across functions and job levels
    • Strong communication skills: assertive, clear, able to convey technical content in easy-to-understand concepts and ideas
