Job Description: 

The Senior Demand & Supply Planning Manager/Business Partner will be accountable for all aspects of Supply Chain Business Partnering and Demand and Supply Planning for Specialty businesses within Nestle Health Science USA’s Lifestyle Nutrition business unit.
  
Business Partnering responsibilities include ensuring continuous alignment with business priorities, initiatives, and activities and the delivery of the performance to the agreed KPI levels. This role will also manage the relationship and effective flow of information between the DSP function and internal business partners including Order to Cash, Logistics, Procurement, Sales, Marketing, and Finance. Supply Planning management responsibilities include ensuring effective supply planning for finished goods, achieving targeted service levels, while optimizing inventory and bad goods management, and maintaining close relationships with factory/co-manufacturing locations. The goal of this is to make sure that the ensure supply plans optimize total delivered cost and effective response to market demands.   

Demand Planning management responsibilities include the development and implementation of performance standards and operating procedures that affect the Demand Planning function, the interpretation of company-wide standards and Supply Chain reference documents. This role will also manage the deployment of related demand planning tools/reports and the guidance on demand forecast for the business unit.  This role will also lead the Sales and Operations Planning process (MBP - Monthly Business Planning), ensuring robust business processes and coaching the Demand Planner and other key cross-functional participants in Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations. This role is a remote-based opportunity.

Responsibilities: 

Business Partnering

•    Ensuring continuous alignment with business priorities, initiatives, and activities and the delivery of the performance to the agreed KPI levels.
•    Manage the relationship and effective flow of information between the DSP function and internal business partners such as Order to Cash, Logistics, Procurement, Sales, Marketing, and Finance. 
 

Supply Planning 

•    Responsible for leading a planning team that will drive an inventory position that will support service level goals, working capital targets, and minimal bad goods.
•    Collaborate with appropriate Centers of Supply on ongoing capacity utilization and long-term planning. 
•    Manage long term (rolling 18 month) supply plans in close conjunction with the Centers of Supply teams and factories to early identify and resolve potential capacity issues. 
•    Continually reassess current supply planning processes and propose and lead new planning methods and/or tools (i.e. manage by exception, alerts usage, mastery of heuristics, etc). 
•    Responsible for setting, reviewing, and maintaining safety stock policy by SKU to meet agreed upon customer service level objectives while minimizing associated working capital costs.
•    Manage bad goods in the P&L by closely monitoring any risk of ageing stock, communicate with the commercial team to align on potential actions to mitigate financial risks, and propose preventive actions to minimize future reoccurrence. 
•    Present supply outlook (days on hand, service levels, projected future working capital, factory performance) and any strategic plans for the 18month rolling horizon as well as the long-term supply outlook to Nestle Health Science USA leadership and other stakeholders. 

Demand Planning

•    Serve as key collaborator with Finance, Brand Management and other stakeholders to forecast and align with targets and development of an consensus forecast.
•    Provides guidance on demand plan for the brand/business, ensuring alignment with business priorities and initiatives. 
•    Challenges ways of working and manages process changes to improve Demand Plan accuracy, drive out systematic forecast bias and deliver other tangible benefits (e.g. time saving, efficiencies).
•    Quantify new product launches utilizing historical data for both internal and competitive launches, planned marketing support and key account sales plans. 
•    Defines ways of working and best practices for the cross-functional planning activities and ensures commitment from all functions to shape an efficient and effective process. 
•    Partners with the business to identify gaps between the demand plan and financial/sales targets and validate all corrective measures/gap closers. 
•    Directs and makes recommendations on the Consensus Demand Planning (CDP) for the business unit, challenge forecast assumptions and defends the appropriate changes to the CDP. 
•    Engages with other functions to enable the use of external data into the Demand Planning process (e.g. point of sale, consumption, customer inventory, etc.).
•    Actively participates in the Market Business Strategy (MBS), Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP), Monthly Business Planning (MBP) and Dynamic Forecast (DF) processes. 
•    Manages team who drives consensus meetings with Supply Planning, Sales, Marketing, Finance & Operations to ensure forecasting objectives are achieved.
 

People Leadership, Training & Development 

•    Motivate planners and managers in the team to achieve stated objectives.
•    Ensure team has correct resources, training, and continuing education opportunities to continuously improve and develop skills.
•    Developing a network of Supply and Demand Planning by leading and actively presenting in Supply and Demand Planning functional meetings with other business units to share experiences and contribute in defining company-wide best practices. 
•    Cascades knowledge of Supply and Demand Planning best practices and tools to other planners, new hires and cross-functional teams. 
•    Perform addition duties and tasks as assigned by the Senior Director, Demand & Supply Planning. 

Requirements: 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or in a related field required. 
•    7+ years of relevant work experience in Supply Chain Management including Supply Planning, Procurement or in a related field required, preferably in a Manufacturing or Factory-based environment in the CPG, Pharmaceutical or Nutraceutical industries. 
•    2-3+ years of People Leadership experience in leading, motivating and influencing teams and direct reports required.  
•    Demonstrated fluency in MS Office (Word/Outlook/PowerPoint) and also in MS Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Charts, Graphs, etc.) required. 
•    Must possess excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, time management and stakeholder management skills (including the ability to develop and maintain strong, cross-functional stakeholder relationships). 
•    Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to both analyze and interpret data, story tell and build quantitative models of business problems required. 
•    Willing and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and business priorities with minimal supervision. 
•    Must possess creative thinking skills and problem-solving skills to solve key business challenges. 
•    Ability to establish and implement processes and systems to improve working methods within the team and the organization (inspiring change management). 
•    Experience with CRM or ERP systems including SAP, Oracle, Power BI or other systems are highly preferred. 
•    Willing and able to travel up to 50% based on the needs of the team and the business. 

The approximate pay range for this position is $135,000 to $150,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as geographic location.
