Job Description:
The Senior Government Pricing and Contracting Manager for Nestle Health Science USA will play a critical role in developing and implementing pricing strategies, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position manages the process, controls and assignments related to the validation, calculation, and analytics for Government Pricing submissions of Medicare Part D, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Federal Supply Schedule, the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program, PHS 340B Drug Discount Program and all State reporting and compliance.
This position will also require a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The Senior Government Pricing and Contracting Manager reports to the Director of Market Access (Trade, Pricing and Payer Marketing) and involves up to 20% travel. This position will be either a hybrid or remote role based on the selected candidate’s geographic location. Preference will be given to applicants who live within a commutable distance of Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Responsibilities:
Government Pricing and Compliance
• Ensures compliance with government pricing programs, including Medicare Part D Program, VA Federal Supply Schedule Program, Medicaid Drug Rebate Program, PHS 340B Drug Discount Program, Tricare, State Supplemental Rebate Programs and all State Reporting and Compliance.
• Develops, implements, maintains and approves key SOP’s that ensure compliance and timely completion of all government program submissions including but not limited to Average Manufacture Price (AMP), Best Price (BP), non-Federal Average Manufacturer Price (nFAMP), Public Health Service - 340B (PHS), Federal Ceiling Price (FCP) and all state reporting.
• Partners effectively with cross-functional teams on commercial/business strategies and pricing changes to assess government pricing requirements and implications.
• Partners with Compliance and Legal teams to stay current on legislative and regulatory changes that impact government/state pricing and reporting.
• Analyzes market trends, competitive landscape, and pricing data to inform strategic decisions.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to pricing and contracting.
• Manages third party provider with calculations, Medicaid rebating, Tricare and Coverage Gap payments.
• Understanding of supplemental rebate agreements (SRAs) and execution.
Contracting & Additional Duties
• Develop and execute pricing strategies to maximize revenue and market share.
• Support the development and execution of contracting strategies across Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and other government channels.
• Oversee end-to-end contract lifecycle management, including offer evaluation/financial modeling, execution, and performance monitoring.
• Manage the contracting process, including legal submission, execution, and monitoring of contracts for the Market Access team.
• Communicate appropriate chargeback price changes to wholesalers for implementation.
• Review and validate chargeback transactions for accuracy and pull-through execution.
• Coordinate processing, review and payment of rebate packages with third party vendor.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and legal, to align pricing and contracting strategies with business objectives.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or in a related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of professional work experience in Government Pricing and Contracting within the Pharmaceutical industry, with at least 2 or more years of experience working with Government Pricing software, such as Model N or equivalent products, required.
• Demonstrated fluency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) is required.
• Must have in- depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to Government Pricing and Contracting.
• Proven track record of success in developing and implementing pricing strategies.
• Must have excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, organizational and stakeholder management skills (including the ability to develop and maintain strong, cross-functional stakeholder relationships).
• Willing and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Must have analytical, project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Willing and able to travel up to 20% based on the needs of the team and the business required.
The approximate pay range for this position is $156,000 to $170,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as geographic location.
