- Collaborate with internal and external partners to limit costs and risks in the supply chain while also driving process improvements
- Manage ongoing relationships with import/export vendors, including ocean and dray carriers and conduct periodic (quarterly or bi-annual) vendor reviews with agreed upon metrics and targets
- Assist in leading RFP's related to International Logistics/Drayage vendors
- Work with Nestle Global Transportation to determine annual container forecast, select preferred carriers and manage allocations with steamship lines
- Manage claims related to damages occurring during international shipping
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for international logistics related processes, industry trends, etc.
- Attend seminars, conferences, and presentations on International Logistics to keep abreast of current events
- Lead and manage projects utilizing decision making authority to change functional processes to improve end-to-end execution
- Independently resolve problems and provide solutions with understanding of business and customer impact
- Collaborate with cross functional team to determine best routing options/solutions to avoid delays and mitigate costs
- Analyze port costs and implement best practices to mitigate port delays/charges
- Develop methods and procedures to execute various logistics operations and activities, functionally and efficiently
- Undergraduate degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience is required
- Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
- Minimum 5 years experience working in international logistics with port terminals, dray carriers, and steam ship lines is required
- Proven experience in relationship building, facilitation, implementation skills and influence
- Strong Communication Skills
