POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist who will drive the procurement of key raw materials, managing a spend of $90 to $110 million. In this dynamic role, this individual will build strong partnerships with stakeholders to optimize sourcing, supplier selection, and contract negotiations, ensuring quality and service excellence.
This person will develop and execute innovative category strategies that deliver exceptional value and identify cost-saving opportunities. Leveraging expertise in raw materials across various industries—such as food, pharmaceuticals, and personal care—will be crucial in enhancing our procurement methodologies and supplier relationships.
Finally, this role will collaborate with a dedicated team to implement initiatives that boost quality and delivery, ultimately ensuring high customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and implements long term Category Strategies and yearly sourcing plan for Procurement of several categories of spend for Nestlé Health Science.
- Develops and manage continuous improvement pipeline to deliver significant year over year productivity. Ensure saving tracking in partnership with Finance.
- Executes market research in various areas, resulting in robust Category Strategies. Keeps abreast of market conditions and maintain an agile mindset to flex resources and external capacity as needed to meet changing business needs.
- Ensures optimize sourcing, supplier selection, pricing, contracting and commercialization while meeting quality and service level requirements for their spend area. This results in ensuring negotiation and implementation of supplier agreements to deliver the greatest overall value. Monitors supplier performance on an ongoing basis and develops improvement plans as required.
- Ensure proactive risk management strategy as well as partnering with supply planning team to ensure timely problem solving of supply issues.
- Liaises with various commercial teams to ensure two way dialogue and understanding of business/brand needs as well as industry trends and opportunities in their area of expertise.
- Supports new product, new technology or new initiative launches as applicable. Leverage supplier partner in securing differenced ingredients and technology.
- Support various transformation projects (such as Network optimization, complexity reduction) on as needed basis.
- Ensures timely and accurate maintenance of Procurement data in ERP.
- Manage monthly price forecast review process.
REQUIREMENTS AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or Food Science is strongly preferred but experience would be considered in lieu of a Degree.
- At least 5 years of experience in raw material categories is required.
- Strong background in direct raw material categories, ideally in food, pharmaceutical or nutraceutical industries.
- Broad background in Procurement supporting manufacturing/ commercial/ corporate functions in various operating models.
- Hands on management experience in developing and implementing new suppliers and business solutions.
SKILLS:
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work within ambiguity with the need to create the appropriate level of process and procedure.
- Ability to lead x-functional teams to resolve complex problems.
- Strong knowledge in strategic sourcing process and category management.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Proven analytical skills (e.g. data analysis, business processes).
- Ability to act in a customer-service oriented capacity with stakeholders at different levels of seniority.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- SAP experience is preferred.
- Has the ability to work and communicate effectively at all levels and functions of the organization.
- Experience in implementing change management.
- Has supply chain experiences with other functions, planning and logistics preferred.
- Possess some technical comprehension and can collaborate effectively with Technical stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to a Global, Matrixed organization.
- Experience in contracts and contract negotiation.
- Possess foundational finance knowledge such as P&L analysis, budgeting, cash flow, etc.
This position will be either a remote or hybrid role based on the selected candidate’s geographic location. Preference will be given to applicants who live within a commutable distance of Bridgewater, NJ, Chicago, IL, Palm Beach Gardens, FL or Long Island, NY.
The approximate pay range for this position is $82,000 to $100,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
