Position Summary:

As the Supply Planning Lead supporting the Vital Protein brand for a Nestlé Health Science business unit, you will own all aspects of supply planning and play a pivotal role in ensuring our products are available where and when our consumers need them. In this dynamic role, you will develop and execute supply plans for finished goods, achieve targeted service levels, and optimize inventory while proactively managing obsolete and slow-moving goods. Working in close partnership with our factories and co-manufacturing partners, you will balance total delivered cost with the agility needed to respond to shifting market demand. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact—solving complex supply challenges, collaborating across functions, and helping bring health and nutrition solutions to consumers around the world.

Important Note:

  • This position is remote. Preference will be given to candidates who reside within the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut), Arlington, VA & Solon, OH.

Key Responsibilities:

      • Manage the supply/production planning and co-manufacturing/co-packing requirements planning functions in a cost-effective manner.
      • Develop supply plans that optimize supply, service, and inventory while working within production constraints and managing total delivered cost impact.
      • Manage both short-term (within the Planning Time Fence) and long-term (rolling 18-month) capacity plans in close partnership with the factories to proactively identify and resolve potential capacity issues.
      • Ensure customer service and delivery objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints to meet marketing and financial goals.
      • Manage and recommend decisions to balance supply needs across all available sourcing locations (factory and co-manufacturer).
      • Set, review, and maintain safety stock policy by SKU to meet agreed-upon customer service level objectives while minimizing associated working capital costs.
      • Manage bad goods within the P&L by closely monitoring the risk of aging stock, aligning with the commercial team on mitigation actions, and proposing preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
      • Manage inventory for salvage selling and assess potential salvage opportunities.
      • Manage inventory dwell time appropriately.
      • Continually reassess current inventory management processes, and propose and lead new planning methods and tools.
      • Identify and analyze build-stock needs and timing based on production availability and strategic decisions, communicating clearly with the appropriate stakeholders.
      • Lead frequent communication with the cross-functional team on product availability and critical items—highlighting risks of customer shortages, back-in-stock projections, root causes, and preventive actions to avoid future recurrence.
      • Present the supply outlook (days on hand, service levels, projected future working capital, and factory performance) and strategic plans across the 18-month rolling horizon, while supporting the long-term supply outlook for NHSc leadership and other stakeholders.
      • Support innovation project needs by providing supply outlooks and setups.
      • Gather all necessary inputs from other Operational functions that impact the supply outlook.
      • Lead budget planning and target-setting activities.
      • Optimize, review, and propose meeting structures and content to ensure alignment with Manufacturing and other Operational functions.
      • Lead and manage weekly production reviews with Manufacturing (factory and co-manufacturer).
      • Coordinate with the QA team to ensure effective and timely product release, prioritizing products as necessary.
      • Lead monthly production reviews with Manufacturing.
      • Lead Monthly Business Planning meetings (availability reviews, business reviews, etc.).
      • Manage communication and the flow of transitions among the various Supply Planners affected by major sourcing changes and projects.
      • Develop the Supply Planning network by leading and actively presenting in Supply Planning functional meetings with other business units—sharing experiences and helping define company-wide best practices.

Experience & Education Requirements:
