Position Summary:

As a Supply Planning Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping long-term bulk planning strategies that align with business goals, inventory targets, and manufacturing capabilities. This position is key to driving operational excellence by developing and maintaining accurate, capacity-constrained bulk supply plans across multiple manufacturing sites.

You’ll leverage advanced systems such as Oracle, SAP/APO, and AS400 to ensure long-term visibility and efficiency. In this strategic role, you’ll collaborate closely with production teams, supply planners, and corporate leaders to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs—making a direct impact on our supply chain success.

Important Note: This position will be either a remote or hybrid role based on the selected candidate’s geographic location. Preference will be given to applicants who live within a commutable distance of Bridgewater, NJ, Chicago, IL, Palm Beach Gardens, FL or Long Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain 18-month long-term bulk production plans that align with finished goods requirements, capacity constraints, and inventory targets.
  • Regularly update and refresh planning files and templates to ensure accuracy and alignment across APO, Oracle, and AS400 systems—including validating inputs, refreshing formulas, and ensuring timely uploads to support planning cycles.
  • Ensure plans reflect realistic operational limits and capacity constraints, with updates occurring bi-weekly or more frequently during critical periods.
  • Conduct variance analysis on receipts and production data to identify significant fluctuations; collaborate with finished goods planners to resolve discrepancies and establish thresholds for exception-based planning.
  • Partner with factory managers, schedulers, and supply chain stakeholders to align production schedules, capacity constraints, and raw material requirements.
  • Monitor bulk inventory across SAP and AS400, ensuring accurate tracking of produced inventory, reworks, non-conforming goods, and transfers.
  • Track freshness metrics of bulk inventory to ensure timely consumption and minimize the risk of aging stock; work with quality and production teams to proactively address potential issues before they impact finished goods planning.
  • Define and maintain minimum and maximum inventory thresholds for bulk materials to support optimal production flow, reduce waste, and prevent shortages.
  • Serve as the liaison between finished goods planners and short-term bulk site planning to prioritize business needs and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain planning master data, performing routine updates to ensure system integrity and reliability.
  • Participate in LEAN and End-to-End Value Stream continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost efficiency and streamline manufacturing and planning processes.
  • Experience with SAP APO or OMP is a plus.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in areas related to supply chain or manufacturing
