Position Summary:
The Sustainability Manager plays a crucial role in promoting sustainability as a key differentiator, cultivating a sustainable culture, and effectively implementing sustainable practices across different business functions. This position requires a strong knowledge of sustainability, communication skills, and the ability to generate demand for sustainable initiatives.
This position will be either a remote or hybrid role based on the selected candidate’s geographic location. Preference will be given to applicants who live within a commutable distance of Bridgewater, New Jersey/Tri-State area, Chicago, Illinois, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and/or within the Long Island, New York areas.
Responsibilities:
- Support commercial account teams to leverage sustainability as a competitive advantage, driving sales and enhancing brand reputation; create compelling sales assets, 1-pagers and talking points that resonate with customers and HCPs (Health Care Providers)
- Ensure sustainability metrics are included in key RFPs to secure new business opportunities, demonstrating the value of sustainability initiatives
- Develop marketing and sales education programs to enhance understanding and implementation of sustainability practices and priorities that foster a deeper culture of sustainability and recognize the impact of associated actions within NHSc US
- Support brand sustainability certifications and claims prioritizing transparency and accountability in the marketplace
- Launch an internal awards and recognition program to celebrate and incentivize sustainability achievements across NHSc US
- Streamline sustainability information requests for greater efficiency and impact
Requirements:
- 5 years proven experience in sustainability, particularly in a commercial or corporate setting
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree is preferred
- Background in sales or marketing, with a focus on leveraging sustainability to drive business growth
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, including cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
- Proven track record of thought leadership in sustainability, including external speaking engagements and publications
- Experience with third party sustainability certifications and claims
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and distribute impactful sustainability messaging
- Strong analytical skills to establish clear account KPIs and measure commercialization value
- Highly organized, with the ability to streamline processes and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with sales, marketing, IT, and customer service teams
- Ability to inspire and lead teams, fostering a culture of sustainability within the organization
- Creative and innovative mindset to develop new sustainability initiatives and drive continuous improvement
The approximate pay range for this position is $105,000- $120,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
