External Communications Specialist, this is your challenge

As part of our Corporate Communications team, you will actively identify, shape, and share newsworthy stories from across our organisation, strengthening our corporate and brand reputation in a dynamic market environment.
As External Communications Specialist, you have the following responsibilities
- Build and strengthen the Nestlé corporate and brand reputation by collaborating with the Nestlé categories on media and influencer relations.
- Partner with our Talent team to support and enhance our employer branding efforts.
- Develop and execute the digital communications strategy for Nestlé in Belgium, including planning, creating, and managing local content for nestle.be, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
- Localise and implement international corporate communication campaigns in close alignment with the Zone Europe Corporate Communications team.
- Write compelling key messages, storylines, press releases, blog posts, and other content formats.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media and collaborate with influencers.
- Proactively engage with online and offline media and influencers to pitch our stories.
- Provide support in crisis communications situations, such as product recalls.
- Monitor and report on reputation development, including social listening and creating media overviews.
What we are looking for in our External Communications Specialist?
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in communications, media relations, or press engagement.
- Proven experience as a spokesperson (French and English required; Dutch is a strong plus).
- Strong knowledge of the Belgian media landscape.
- Experience in a PA/PR agency is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
- A strong affinity for storytelling and the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging narratives.
- Ability to identify trends and spot newsworthy developments.
- A proactive, self-starting mindset with the ability to independently identify and seize opportunities.
- Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to communicate convincingly, both internally and externally.
- Strong organisational skills and a structured, planned way of working.
- Demonstrated experience in digital communication and social media.
- Experience with crisis management is an advantage.
- Experience working with influencers is a plus.
