Position Summary

 

As part of Purina’s EMENA External Communication team, you will positively influence Nestlé Purina’s reputation through the development and management of proactive communications strategies and content that drives trust and advocacy among stakeholders. 
You will create trusted relationships and strong co-operation within the European Commission and other European stakeholders (e.g Fediaf etc). You will identify and secure EU funds for research projects which are linked with pet health & well-being, the relationship between pets and people (the pet human bond).

 

A day in the life of a Public Affairs Manager

 

  • Leading the coordination of the advocacy and EU stakeholder management strategy across our business
  • Implement an EU Stakeholder Engagement Strategy for the business with a particular focus on supporting the markets on agreed key advocacy topics e.g. sustainability as well as our Purina in Society commitments
  • Developing significant working relationships and promoting constructive dialogue and ways of working with EU or local think tanks, government organisations, trade bodies, professional associations)
  • Contribute to high priority corporate communications campaigns
  • Represent Nestlé Purina at European industry level (i.e. trade association): building relationships with FEDIAF/GAPFA and other European organisations working closely with the petfood industry; influencing industry and organisations to maximise opportunities with potential benefit to the business; raising profile of pet food industry with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide issues management and create crisis communications content and materials to maximise opportunities to reinforce company and brand reputation
  • Identifying opportunities for EU-funded research projects notably linked to demonstrating the benefits of the pet human bond, supporting pet health and well-being

What will make you successful

 

  • University degree with at least 3-5 years’ experience working in an international corporate communications role and/or public affairs (in-house and/or agency) for FMCG clients with a clear track record of success (pet category/industry experience and knowledge is desirable but not essential)
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategies that span corporate and consumer communications, reputation management, stakeholder engagement
  • Proven ability to influence, manage, build and improve stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills with rigorous attention to detail in English
  • A collaborative mindset with a high level of initiative
