Position Snapshot

The Category Marketing Manager is responsible for setting the overall direction of the Category Marketing function for Beverages which includes four distinct areas: Marketing, Trade Marketing, Product Marketing and Category Development. Ensures that the annual marketing plan and specific programs are developed and implemented to meet company goals and objectives and directly contribute to delivering the Beverages Business profitability targets.  Leads Brand Marketing teams to win more in the market and gain competitive advantage. Collaborates cross functionally with Leaders from Strategic Marketing and across the value chain to enable business results

Position Summary
  • Leads the development and execution of the Nestle Beverages Strategic Roadmap and ensures alignment of local market strategy with overall global strategy
  • Manages and optimises the category P&L and ensures consistent and sustainable profitable growth
  • Uses different touch points especially digital platforms to reach and engage consumers in innovative and non-traditional ways in support of brand objectives.
  • Knowledge and deep understanding of the Customer and Consumer Segments to enable solutions that address their needs and win against competition
  • Successful promotional and detailing activities resulting in trial, conversion, purchase, loyalty and advocacy in order to grow ahead of categories where Nestlé competes
A day in the life of...
  • Develops own management and leadership skills by: providing regular coaching and mentoring to direct reports. Coaching and guidance should be in-line with Nestle Leadership Framework Competency Model
  • Leads, motivates and develops a team which is agile enough to respond to fast changing organisational challenges
  • Manages processes and removes barriers to ensure that the team is as effective as possible to meet business goals and win with consumers, customers.
What will make you successful
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Marketing related focus / Honours preferred
  • Energetic, self-starter with ability to lead and motivate a large group
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing mix elements, along with experience in developing and implementing both product and customer specific marketing programs.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse market research, trends, syndicated data and competitive data / trends. 
  • Understanding of category management and development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills for interaction with diverse people
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions that positively impact business
  • Results driven with a proven track record in consistently delivering & exceeding  business targets and category growth
  • Systems / info technology and digital marketing knowledge is beneficial
