Business Development Manager NHS

Position Summary

This position is accountable to develop long-term strategic plans and short-term operational plans that deliver profitable growth for the Romanian and Bulgarian Health Science  business, this includes Consumer Care (FS and OTC) and Medical Nutrition,  to ensure delivery of annual business results.  The incumbent has full P& L ownership. This position is a member of the CEE Cluster NHSc  Leadership Team and serves as the business liaison between Nestle ROM,  and Global NHSc for the countries concerned .  

A day in the life of...

Defines strategies to drive long and short-term profitability of the categories that deliver profitable growth and grow market share, consistent with global/regional strategy:

  • Develops and designs the Market Business Strategy in line with global and CEE Cluster priorities 
  • Directs development of detailed annual operating plans that reflect NHSc objectives/initiatives and detail category operational parameters across functions (marketing, sales, finance, medical affairs, market access, regulatory, technical and shared services)
  • Ensures clear direction, resources, tools and processes for the teams to execute the strategy 

Has oversight for development of annual Consumer, Medical and I&R plans to meet business objectives:

  • Develops strategies to grow brand equity with consumers, patients, customers, healthcare practitioners and stakeholders
  • Serves as custodian of the brands, products and services to ensure integrity is maintained across all relevant touch points (eg customers, consumers, key opinion leader

New Business Development:

  • Oversee development of strategies, products and services to enable category expansion into newly defined areas             

Ensure effective business planning:

  • Lead team to utilize required planning format and meet timing guidelines"                

Coaches and develops high performance team consisting of a 4 staff:

  • Motivates, leads and manages team members to ensure the most efficient operations of the group
  • Creates and sustains a work environment that reinforces Nestle & NHSc values and culture
  • Develops, communicates, and trains on policies and procedures as required
  • Conducts and approves Performance Evaluations, and ensures adherence to PDP process  
  • Identifies and develops future leaders to ensure effective succession planning within the team
  • Recruits, selects, develops, trains, evaluates performance and provides discipline and termination to employees, consulting with HR Business Partner and Regional Cluster Manager.           

What will make you successful

  • University Degree in Health Science or Business
  • 10-15 years commercial experience with substantial exposure to OTC/Pharma market. Nutrition experience is a benefit.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in leading teams & building a positive culture
  • Strong financial acumen & demonstrated P&L management 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop optimized solutions in a complex environment and across multiple stakeholders
