Position Summary

The Category Manager is a collaborative business partner, who has deep shopper/category/channel insight. Ensures a commercial alignment between sales & marketing. Drive category development to shape future and engage customers.

A day in the life of...
  • You will define strategies and plans that deliver Category growth based on consumer, shopper and customer requirements.
  • You will lead and facilitate the Integrated Commercial Planning, ensure appropriate category objectives, strategies and activities put forward – with clear guidelines.
  • You will identify priority channels for the Category and recommend tailored Category Channel plans in line with overall market strategy
  • Generate & leverage on shopper and customer understanding to ensure all our activities (promotional and pricing guidelines, in-store communication, tailor-made promotions) answer business and shopper requirements
  • Recommend winning commercial propositions for the category, effectively communicating these to customer and field sales managers as appropriate.
  • Actively participate each month in Monthly Business Planning cycle, help business teams to review, understand, assess, align, forecast and close/manage gaps
  • Facilitate the Monthy Sales Review MSR (Part of MBP cycle)
  • Develop and manage subordinates (2 direct reports)

  • Solid computer skills - Word, Excel, Power Point is essential, PowerBI, SAP and Nielsen is an advantage

  • Strategic thinking and holistic view
  • Ability to manage business independently
  • Demonstrable record of success in a customer facing role
  • Understands customers and the selling process, key business functions
  • Strong people management skills
  • Knowledge of the coffee category is an advantage
