Position Snapshot 

  

  • Location: Nationwide, mainly Budapest and Pest County 
  • Education: VET degree with Companion Animal Veterinary Clinic experience or interest, interest or experience in pet nutrition is a plus 
  • Experience: At least 1 year sales experience in veterinary industry, pharmaceutical company or Pet Nutrition Company in case of no previous sales experience demonstrate high potential in selling and convincing communication 
  • Language: Fluent Hungarian and English knowledge in written and spoken 
  • Requirement: Valid Driving License 

 

Position Summary 

  

Develop relationships with Veterinary and administrative personal within clients of Vet channel. Provide necessary commercial, nutritional and education support in order to drive sales & recommendations of PRO PLAN and PRO PLAN Veterinary diets products.  

  

A day in the life of a Vet Advisor... 
 

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets for sales and recommendation of the PRO PLAN and PRO PLAN Veterinary Diets brands through the effective management of existing accounts and the acquisition of new business 
  • Execute the clinic conversion process, to achieve new clinic conversion numbers in line with targets. Target accounts agreed with Specialist Sales Manager. Using well developed sales and negotiation skills to win new business 
  • Identify the different profiles within the clinic (Clinical director, Veterinarins, Nurses, ...), understand their situation, their needs and wants 
  • Get information from the customers and control the process, through excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills 
  • Implementing commercial strategies across the customer base and monitoring effectiveness 
  • Creation of Joint Business Plans with clinics to drive business growth 
  • Maintain current and accurate records in the Purina's reporting system: of all veterinary practices in the territory & of all professional and administrative activities 
  • Maintain and update the customer base in order to direct all resources to maximum potential. Complete periodic activity reports               
  • To aquire and maintain a high level of technical product knowledge to facilitate conversations with all levels of practice staff 
  • To deliver training tailored to practice requirements when needed, to achieve sales and recommendation objectives 
  • To represent Purina at industry trade shows / congresses / symposiums 
  • To work as part of the wider Specialist and Vet field force team, attending team meetings and sharing best practice
  • Collaborating / supporting other Vet advisors and Specialist Category Developers 
  • Escalate feedback on total quality improving opportunities (technologies, tools, procedures, promotionals materials and samples) 
  • Daily and countinous follow up with internal PURINA team and sales representatives on field 

 

What will make you successful? 

  

  • Demonstrable experience of growing business within existing accounts 
  • Management of territory 
  • Know the Veterinary circuit very well, understand how Veterinary clinics work and the daily problems they face
  • Good knowledge of sales techniques and negotiation techniques 
  • Strong communication and training skills
