POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides the technical expertise and leadership necessary to establish and maintain procedures in GMP requirements, sanitation, food safety, good hygiene practices and pest control in order to assure compliance with all federal, state, existing regulatory and Nestle quality systems.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and improve plant sanitation systems including post sanitation and pre-operational inspections.
  • Manage plant HACCP systems, which include, completion of annual HACCP review for all products manufactured in the facility.
  • Manage plant ISO internal audit program which include implementation of systems which comply with ISO 22000:2005 standard and food safety team participation.
  • Perform allergen and sanitation validations as required for the plant.
  • Develop state-of-the-art cleaning and sanitation procedures and policies to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and Nestle’s quality systems.
  • Establish and maintain the pest control systems.
  • Manage training program and perform training in the following areas:  GMP compliance, sanitation, food safety, good hygiene practices, and pest control.
  • Assist in the implementation of sanitary design principles to new and existing processes.
  • Development and maintenance of QMS for products manufactured directly in their business unit of the facility.
  • Maintain relationships and assure compliance by outside suppliers of cleaning and sanitation supplies.
  • Maintain plant GMP audit program for the plant.
  • Follow Burlington Factory safety & environmental objectives & targets, follow the plant safety rules, report unsafe conditions immediately, report incidents immediately or by the end of the shift, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering or related field preferred.)  General Bachelors degree with relevant job experience will be considered.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Two to five years manufacturing experience required, preferably in food/quality assurance operations with GMP compliance
  • Pest control certification preferred
  • Member of HACCP or Food Safety team.
  • Member of CIP or specialized sanitation team.
  • Participation in hygienic design evaluations and experience with outside regulator agencies desired.
  • Demonstrated capability to influence stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams and different initiatives.
  • Capable of developing and delivering training to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Must be proficient with computer systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong coaching and problem solving skills, be able to work independently and also as part of a team
