POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for administration of quality programs based on the Nestlé Quality Management System (NQMS) and Regulatory Requirements. The programs include, but are not necessarily limited to consumer complaints; standard operating procedures; validation; HACCP; hygiene and compliance; management of change; product and ingredient standards and specifications; etc. The factory QA Manager is responsible for providing technical and quality leadership expertise in developing and maintaining adequate quality systems to assure compliance with Nestlé and FDA regulatory requirements.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Part of the factory leadership team, contribute to the creation of the factory operational master plan. Identify opportunities for improvement, develop and lead quality master plan for the factory and ensure completion of the tasks and actions. Responsible for overall quality compliance of the factory: FDA, Nestle and FSSC22000. •    Primary point of contact for quality in the factory: liaise with Business and third parties. Responsible for escalations in quality.
•    Point Quality individual in the factory in liaising with corporate quality management.  Responsible for monthly QA reports and annual reports to Division QA and NUSA QM.
•    Responsible for review and evaluation of direct reports in Quality Assurance in regard to performance, development, training, promotions, and salary increases.
•    Responsible for the quality budget preparation, administration, controls, and adherence.
•    Assure adequate documentation of production and process controls, investigations, etc. in support of compliance with FDA, Nestle and FSSC22000 requirements as well as batch release to supply chain; is the ultimate authority on product release. Oversees traceability programs.
•    Oversees HACCP reviews and QMS and has ultimate responsibility for these programs.
•    Oversees consumer complaint investigation and tracking program. Communicates trends and issues within the factory and champions corrective and preventative measures.
•    Provides product/process quality and (consumer) safety oversight/ guidance for new product development, manufacturing practices, engineering/maintenance programs and practices. Conducts or oversees internal audit program assessing factory compliance against these standards.
•    Responsible for creating and maintaining a work environment conducive to creative thinking and continuous improvement.
•    Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel and applying the proper commendations and corrective action to insure it.
•    Ensure compliance with all regulatory and Nestlé guidelines pertaining to safety, heath, and environmental

•    Travel as needed up to 5%

•    Provide support as needed during off hours


REQUIREMENTS & MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years in a quality management/leadership role, previous quality manager experience preferred
  • 5 + years manufacturing experience, within food or beverage environment strongly preferred 
  • 3+ years of People Management experience 

 

SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, technical abilities, and decision-making skills.
  • Hygienist experience preferred
