Logistics Planning Assistant  – 6 month FTC
Salary: £22,000 - £27,000 depending on experience 

Position Summary

Do you have experience of a dynamic fast paced supply chain environment?  Do you have the ability to analyse and interpret data? Do you have the mind-set and initiative for continuous improvement? Then this could be the role you’re looking for.
As one of the major exporters of the UK and Ireland’s food industry, our supply chain really is at the heart of all operations at Nestlé from sourcing raw materials right through to delivering the end product to our customer. Working closely with these customers and our internal colleagues, we are able to manage one of the FMCG industry’s most complex and sophisticated value chains, putting the consumer at the heart of everything we do.

A day in the life of...

•    Promoting positive behaviours around individual and safety of others by practising and praising good safety and challenging unsafe actions
•    Monitoring New Automated Warehouse to diagnose alarms and escalate for support
•    Liaising with System Logistics customer service to troubleshoot issues
•    Plan all product housekeeping activities to enable on-time customer deliveries
•    Plan de-topping operation based on labour & inbound import ASNs
•    Allocating stock to Customer orders using SAP warehouse management system and Systore to ensure timely order picking, loading and dispatch to Customers
•    Working with cross functional teams, e.g. Production Planning, Transport Planning to manage exceptions in the transport and warehouse programme
•    Managing workflow of trucks on site, making decisions on the use of docks and bays for safest and most efficient loading and unloading
•    Providing operational reports and update on DC programme on regular basis during shift
•    Be responsible for all administrative tasks during shift and providing support to Shift Managers
•    Contributing to root cause analysis for problem solving and continuous improvement mind set
•    Manage Consumables for Logistics Operations
•    Maintain Capability in Logistics Planning Executives team through writing and maintaining of SOPs


The role is in the centre of the operations with real stakeholder presence, covering 4 on 4 off days  operation on shift rota basis. You will liaise and network with a wide range of stakeholders across multiple sites.

•    with strong initiative and a service and results-focused mind-set
•    analytical and numerically competent
•    ideally have experience within a Supply Chain role, but not essential
•    with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders, and communicate to all levels
•    be able to prioritise and multitask 
•    anticipate problems and find solutions quickly
•    an ability to build effective relationships
