As Project Manager, you will lead the design, implementation and start-up of capital investment projects across the manufacturing site. You will translate project charters and technical specifications into safe, compliant and effective delivery, helping the site achieve its operational and investment objectives.

Your Impact

You will take ownership of capital projects from scope development through commissioning, balancing safety, quality, cost and timescale. Working across functions and with external partners, you will create clarity, manage risk and help ensure each investment delivers its intended value.

  • Project Delivery: Lead capital investment projects from definition through implementation and start-up, maintaining focus on agreed scope, budget and timing.
  • Safety & Compliance: Embed Health, Safety and Environmental requirements throughout project activity, escalating incidents or concerns and ensuring work follows legislation, site rules and Nestlé standards.
  • Commissioning & Handover: Coordinate the commissioning of plant and equipment against agreed standards, supporting a controlled handover into site operations.
  • Contractor Management: Plan and oversee third-party activity on site, setting clear expectations and monitoring delivery, safety and quality.
  • Cross-functional Partnership: Work with Operations, R&D, Marketing, Logistics and other site teams to align project scope, dependencies, timing and budget.
  • Investment Planning: Support the development of project scopes, cost estimates and timing plans for CapEx investments of up to £5 million+, applying effective financial control throughout delivery.

Your Ingredients for Success

You will bring a practical approach to project delivery, with the technical understanding and collaboration skills needed to guide complex investment activity. If you are excited by the opportunity but do not meet every desirable criterion, we would still encourage you to apply.

Essential

  • Qualifications: Apprenticeship training, an HNC or a degree in an engineering discipline, or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • Project Delivery: Experience of managing or supporting capital projects within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Engineering Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering, with the ability to apply this knowledge to project decisions.
  • Safety & Compliance: Practical knowledge of relevant Health & Safety requirements, including machinery safety, CE marking and PUWER.
  • Commercial Awareness: Ability to manage project costs through review, control, forecasting, purchasing and supplier negotiation.
  • Collaboration: Ability to coordinate colleagues, contractors and cross-functional partners while communicating project priorities clearly.

  • Sector Experience: Exposure to capital project delivery within FMCG or another fast-paced, regulated environment.
