Shift: Rotating Shift Pattern – 4 on 4 off, 2 days 2 nights.

Salary: Circa £42,500 per annum (inclusive of shift of allowance) plus, potential bonus scheme and additional benefits.

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Manager, to join our team based at our Nestlé Waters site in Buxton, Derbyshire.

Nestlé Waters is committed to bottling the very best waters from the source and straight to our customers via the most advanced, and sustainable techniques currently employed.

We have a genuine passion for healthy hydration and a fabulous portfolio of brands.

Water is a shared, precious, and renewable resource that must be cared for to preserve it for future generations. Sustainability and reducing our impact on the environment are at the heart of everything we do.

In 2021 we commissioned our new, state of the art, automated logistics operation.  This investment makes the Buxton site the National Distribution Centre for all Nestle Water products, including our domestic brands of Buxton and Nestle Pure Life and our imported brands such as San Pellegrino and Perrier. 

Our logistics operation still utilises Material Handling Equipment, alongside Laser Guided Vehicles, robotics, automated shuttles and store. 

 

A day in the life of… a Shift Manager

 

As a Shift Manager you will be responsible for delivering safe, reliable and efficient warehouse operations by leading, coaching and developing people in order to motivate them and develop their capability.

The role will report to the Logistics Manager within the warehouse. This is an exciting opportunity to lead through change and progress your career.

 

Responsibilities will include:

•    Contribute towards maintaining high health and safety culture by leading by example and to carry out all duties in compliance with Health and Safety policies on site striving to achieve zero harm.

•    Ensure the provision of a reliable, high-level service to the business and customers through efficient management of automation and resource management to deliver inbound and outbound volume.

•    Developing a shared partnership with production and other areas to role model and encourage One Team mindset.

•    Effectively lead / coach all Operational Reviews. Ensure exchange of information (cascade goals/escalate issues) for alignment with the objectives. Work with the teams to identify and achieve performance improvements. Motivate, guide, support and coach the resources to achieve objectives.

•    Lead development of direct reports to provide appropriate skills and flexibility of workforce to suit current and future needs aligned to Business goals. Focus on availability, warehouse timeliness, quality, housekeeping and cost through optimal resource allocation.

•    To facilitate the development of an open culture of pro-activity where people take pride & responsibility in what they do and feel a sense of involvement & self-worth. To continuously inform and involve all relevant employees in the exchange of information necessary to ensure alignment to current and future goals.

The person that is successful in this role will be driven to drive improvement across the warehouse.  This opportunity provides development individually and as part of a highly skilled team.

 

Other key experiences we are looking for:

•    People Management and being able to demonstrate experience of leading others.

•    Experience of working in fast paced logistics/manufacturing operations (FMCG) environment.

•    You will be a credible, approachable and strong character – able to gain the buy in of key stakeholders on site and flex your style depending on the audience.

•    Experience of implementing and sustaining continuous improvement.

•    Experience of leading and managing change.
