NQAC Analyst II

Job Summary:

  • Carry out microbiological/pathogen analyses not normally done by factory laboratories.
  • Performs microbiological/pathogen analyses on raw materials, line, environment samples, finished products and other special/investigative samples.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts microbiological analyses of all environmental, raw materials, line samples & finished goods for NPI Factories, NPI co packers and co-manufacturers to facilitate timely release of pathogen results within specified analytical lead time.
  2. Strictly implements written standard procedures and work instructions (LI's or CP's or WI's) in performing microbiological analyses according to each product requirements as required by the variability of the samples (from culinary to milk products, ice cream & chilled products, breakfast cereals, & confectionery/chocolate products.)
  3. Performs analytical related tasks (from lifting of line samples, checking/ensuring of correct sample identity, relay of information to factories for incomplete or missing samples, preparation of enrichment & plating media) to facilitate timely examinations.
  4. Ensures correct evaluation of pathogen results determines requirements & facilitates additional tests, if necessary to confirm results (confirmation or biochemical reactions, serological, quantitative tests). Isolates & prepares strains for "serotyping" if necessary.
  5. Ensures documentation of all examinations conducted, submits & evaluates results according to product specifications. Handles maintenance of records in the sample reception & retention areas strictly adhering to sample traceability procedures
  6. Evaluates & guards the section from any deviations or abnormalities in the operations which may lead to incorrect interpretation of results or unsafe conditions.
  7. Uses good judgment as well as ingenuity in the performance of day to day assignment.
  8. Recognizes and solves potential sources of errors in assigned task and reports situation when quality of work falls below the expected level. Immediately works on and reports any deviations or problems on the performance of the instruments.
  9. Implements ICP, GLP, Lab. Safety, & ISO 17025 requirements according to Nestec instructions to ensure correct conduct of microbiological analyses.
  10. Ensures safety in performing microbiological analyses, responsible and takes precautions in handling pure microbiological strains.
  11. Ensures highest degree of sanitation & proper hygiene to ensure elimination of cross-contamination at all times.
  12. Handles maintenance of records for requisitioned materials & for the inventory of supplies & reagents according to GLP & ISO requirements, strictly adhering to written procedures.
  13. Participates in organizing & facilitating GLP audits, workshops & seminars for NPI Factories as well as in Factory initiated activities (MDWT/NCE, Social-Block, NIMS activities).
  14. Executes duties according to Company policies, rules & regulations.
