Location: Sultan Kudarat
Job Summary
The Area Agronomist provides technical support to farmers and suppliers to improve crop productivity, quality, and sustainability. This role works closely with farming communities and stakeholders through farm visits, training, and field monitoring to support the sustainable sourcing of agricultural raw materials.
Responsibilities

Provide technical support and agronomic guidance to farmers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Conduct regular farm visits to monitor crop performance and recommend improvement opportunities.

Support the implementation of Nestlé Better Farming Practices (NBFP), Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI), Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and other sustainability programs.

Deliver training, coaching, and technical assistance to farmers and third-party technicians.

Collect, analyze, and report farm and crop data to support sourcing and sustainability objectives.

Develop and maintain accurate field records, including GIS/GPS mapping and farm assessments.

Support the development of new suppliers and strengthen relationships with existing suppliers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve sourcing, quality, and sustainability targets.
-
Support raw material purchasing activities as required.

Promote compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Food Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field.

Must be willing to reside in the assigned area in Sultan Kudarat.

At least 2-3 years of experience in agronomy, crop production, agricultural extension, sourcing, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of agricultural production, farm management, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and sustainable agriculture.

Experience working with farmers, cooperatives, suppliers, or rural communities.
-
Knowledge of coffee production and sustainability programs (e.g., Farmer Connect, 4C, SAI) is an advantage.

Strong communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.

Experience conducting farmer training and technical advisory activities.
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with GIS/GPS tools is an advantage.

Willing to travel extensively and work in field-based environments.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate 4x4 vehicles and basic farm equipment (e.g., tractors and GPS devices).

Demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and communities.
