Sourcing Managers have an extremely important role as they manage and oversee service and product sourcing strategy. This position plays a crucial role in operations improvement, cost savings as well as total process efficiency and productivity. This position will focus on ensuring supply through Local supplier development (raw and packaging materials) and adding value to the business through agricultural supplier development activities for mitigating food safety and quality risks related to primary production while driving efficient operations, continuous improvement and benchmarking at supplier and farm level to ensure compliance, cost competitiveness and responsible sourcing. 

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE …

  • Build relationships with vendors and key suppliers
  • Negotiate pricing and control costs
  • Develop a yearly budget depending on sourcing needs
  • Execute analyses and make suggestions for improvement of overall sourcing strategy
  • Write sourcing documentation and statements
  • Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices
  • Adhere to all relevant guidelines and regulations
  • Conduct remote and on-site vendor site risk assessments to determine site approval status as well as establish appropriate vendor management verification activities.
  • Ensure timely follow-up with suppliers to ensure closure of audit gaps including corrective action review and approval.
  • Drive corrective action with vendor sites as needed to ensure appropriate control of potential food safety hazards.
  • Audit Report writing; clearly document audit results and findings in approved formats
  • Use SAP system to report audit findings and gap closures
  • Ensure food safety & quality of raw materials (i.e. contaminants, chemical and microbiological) by conducting various assessments based on Nestle standards for FSMS, HACCP, Traceability, Animal welfare and responsible sourcing
  • Develop and support and manage suppliers for implementation of contract farming and GAP (Good Agricultural Practices), suitability and management systems in line with market strategy
  • Implement supplier development projects fully aligned with procurement strategies and the Business needs (NPDI, quality improvement, savings, organic, new raw materials, creating shared value projects)
  • Ensure the agreed service level OTIF, aligned and agreed with internal stakeholders
  • Support implementation of procurement sourcing strategy in close collaboration with Procurement Business Partners
  • Lead E2E Project Management in terms of supplier/farms /raw and packaging, development and ensure sustainable sourcing for availability and supply of planned raw material quantities as per committed timeline
  • Identify and optimize materials portfolio, and generate new material opportunities with existing and new suppliers
  • Develop the necessary measuring tools and keep a complete record of documentations and reports, facilitate the audits and share the best practices.
  • Raise raw materials supplier complaint and packaging suppliers’ complaints (related to GMP)  follow up with the supplier:
  • Support suppliers to identify the potential root cause.
  • Support the suppliers to identify required Corrective action plan.
  • Follow up and verify with the supplier the closing of identified corrective actions.

 

What will make you successful…

  • University degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, food-related experience.
  • Food Safety Management System: Food Safety Team Leader or Certified Auditor (FSSC 22000 and or BRC, FSCC 22000 Food Safety Management Lead Auditor (or GFSI equivalent), HACCP Certified, Food Process/Product Experience.

 

Experience:

  • Food Safety & Quality Management System processes and procedures.
  • implementation and auditing (Minimum 2 years) and agricultural production and good agricultural practices. (min. 2 years).
  • Specific knowledge of the Egyptian agricultural landscape.
  • Language: Bilingual; Arabic and to be proficient in English language (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking)
  • Has demonstrated the ability to ensure supply and to add value to the Business.
  • Project Management / Leadership skills: Good in conflict resolution, highly skilled in time management and well-developed organizational skills. Should be able to direct cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the constraints of schedule and resources at the required quality.
  • Safety: Must have a strong safety mindset to drive a safe working culture and behavior at suppliers' sites.
