Position Summary
The Brand Activation Specialist is responsible for the preparation, execution and reporting of all promotional & sampling activities, while communicating them to CDT, brand, and sales team to ensure the plan is in line with the current market situation (Stocks, timing of promotion, POS availability…). They are also responsible for recommending and implementing local exhibition and sponsorship activities, as well as briefing, following up and coordinating sampling plans and activities with third parties based on Egypt/MENA sampling guidelines.
A day in the life of...
Responsible Sourcing:
- Lead and manage the sourcing of new production, sampling, and co-packing agencies.
- Responsible for securing Contracts for Sampling agencies, Printing presses and Co-Packers with a rate card where possible, while ensuring full compliance with the Responsible Sourcing Audit.
- Responsible for sourcing local exhibitions & relevant sponsorships and implementing the same.
Operational Responsibility:
- Represent A&P requirements in the MBPC process. Participate in all other activation and promotion decisional meetings (internal & external), ensuring cross functional alignment (Sales, SC, Sales Support).
- Responsible to manage the approved PFME budget in coordination with all business units.
- Ensure management of old stocks (POSM/Premiums).
Operational Execution:
- Accountable and responsible to lead and manage successful End-to-End execution of all consumer promotions.
- Accountable and Responsible for the movement of POS material and Premium at country level.
- Supervise proper distribution of POSM and sampling items while ensuring full compliance with local SOP.
- Accountable and Responsible for effective planning and execution of sampling & animation activities in accordance with category plans (Retail/Educational/Other...)
- Accountable and Responsible to develop the sampling and animation yearly program ensuring schedules are well planned and distributed among suppliers.
Compliance (internal):
- Develop internal KPIs to ensure adherence to standards.
- Maintain KPIs for materials creation and extension.
- Create / design and maintain detailed Executional Guidelines for all sampling activities.
- Set standards of reference and profile for the hiring of promoters with the sampling agencies.
- Accountable in monitoring the briefing of the Sampling and Promoter teams on product knowledge and sampling techniques with the assistance of the brand and/or the CDT team.
- Adhere to and strictly follow NESTLÉ hygiene guidelines on planning, briefing and implementation of Sampling activities. Ensure factory QA sets clear guidelines and carries out periodic spot check
Compliance (external):
- Ensure adherence and compliance to country labelling requirements.
- Ensure internal and external alignment on the development of local POSM/Cartons/Packaging/Fixtures related to promotions/sampling & exhibitions.
- Ensure strict adherence and compliance to the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk substitutes and Nestlé Instructions and local country codes.
Quality Control:
- Ensure quality of promotions in retail through feedback reports on market visits.
- Check & evaluate the service performed by suppliers of POS materials, branding, visibility projects and co-packing and address areas for improvement.
