What to Expect:

The Territory Manager is responsible for establishing positive relationships with veterinarians and clinic staff at veterinary clinics within their territories, driving sales to meet targets. The role involves selling Purina’s therapeutic portfolio, promoting key platform events, and improving Purina's brand visibility. The TM will educate clinics on the nutritional benefits of products, conduct business reviews, and develop strategic business plans to grow Purina’s presence with existing and new customers.

 

A day in the life of a Territory Manager:

Accountable for Regional Sales within the territory and execution of territory plan:

    • Accountable for developing and conducting clinic business reviews applying Power BI, reporting, Online portal and other internal tools that will aid in connecting relevant insights to drive opportunities.
    • Develops and delivers territory plan and tracks and measure against it and adapts plans as vital
    • Improves working capital by lowering Days Deduction Outstanding and sales related NPP Bad Goods

 

Accountable for territory veterinary sales & advocacy impact to sales and account management:

    • Promotes Purina to veterinarians as a veterinary diet company and influences veterinarians to recommend Purina products
    • Develops and conducts veterinary educational seminars on pet nutrition and Purina products for the nutrition and treatment of healthy and sick animals to Veterinary clinics
    • Ensures high level of nutritional knowledge is maintained to influence the sales environment

 

Sales Clinic Coverage:

    • Ensure efficient call frequency and coverage of accounts.
    • Identify and drive incremental sales opportunities in clinics, improving distribution and penetration per the Regional Strategic Plan.
    • Handle CRM input and reporting.
    • Report on field activities and competitor actions.
    • Implement promotional strategies in the territory and provide feedback for pre- and post-evaluation

 

Role Requirements

    • Successful candidate must be based Kelowna or Kamloops
    • 4 years experience in sales, account management, or related business experience, experience in healthcare field an assest
    • Valid full driver’s license and safe driving record is required. Open to frequent travel within the assigned territory.
    • Strong self-motivation and proactive attitude, with the capacity to think strategically to secure incremental business opportunities.
    • Strong digital literacy with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Post secondary education in Business, Science, a related field
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with a consistent record of delivering
    • effective presentations to audiences of all sizes
    • Candidate must reside within the territory and able to travel as required based on territory needs.
    • Excellent leadership abilities, encouraging collaboration and strong social skills
