Opportunity currently exists for a Shift Supervisor to join the Production team in our Campbellfield Factory. The Campbellfield factory produces confectionery brands such as Kit Kat, Milky Bar, Smarties, Aero, Soothers, QuickEze, Chokito and many more which delight consumers worldwide.  

 

The Shift Supervisor will ensure line (shift) production plan is fully achieved on time and in compliance with internal and external requirements meeting safety, quality, cost, delivery and environmental needs (strive towards Manufacturing Excellence).

 

A day in the life…

 

Reporting to the Production Manager, key responsibilities include but not limited to: 

 

  • Lead a strong safety culture by ensuring a safe working environment and enforcing hygiene and safety procedures (PPE, LOTO, handwashing, good manufacturing practices, etc.).
  • Coach employees to meet and exceed the requirements of the job through Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) approach.
  • Ensure all finished goods are produced to quality standards and in full compliance with Nestlé GMP and TGA GMP.
  • Maintain clean, well organised working areas and ensure all installations and equipment meet GMP requirements.
  • Manage shift performance through regular operational reviews (SHO, WOR, DOR) and standard routines (SDCA).
  • Drive continuous improvement using basic problem solving tools and sharing learnings.
  • Monitor line controls and take immediate corrective action to maintain product quality and compliance with manufacturing instructions.
  • Foster smooth shift operations through effective employee and industrial relations management.
  • Ensure adequate skill distribution across the shift to meet production plans.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Functional Support teams to ensure effective maintenance of equipment and installations.

  • Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be self-motivated, proactive and have a proven capacity to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge in food manufacturing or degree/diploma in Food Science or Engineering.
  • Relevant work experience either during or after studies.
  • Enjoy working within cross-functional teams in a dynamic work environment.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships.
  • Ability to use data systems and tools for reporting and analysis
  • Demonstrated leadership capability through leading a project or initiative within a factory environment.
  • Strong leadership behaviours, including confidently addressing inappropriate behaviour and applying everyday coaching to engage and develop the workforce.
  • Passionate about working for Nestlé and sharing its purpose.
