POSITION SUMMARY

If you are experienced in working within the food manufacturing industry, this role will excite you. You will be the Champion in leading Hygiene Standards and ensure compliance to the Food Safety System, focussing on HACCP, safety of products and being everyday audit ready.

A DAY IN THE LIFE...

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, and ensure effective implementation of the site Food Safety Management System including HACCP, verification and validation of control measures and Allergen Management
  • Implement and verify the effectiveness of the prerequisite programs related to food safety and hygiene; including Zoning; Pest Management; Cleaning Validation & Verification; Pathogen Monitoring; Foreign Body prevention; Hygiene & Housekeeping; and GMP.
  • Support the New Product Development process through the risk assessment of new raw materials and processes and ensuring completion of the HACCP.
  • Support engineering projects by conducting risk assessments and providing advice about hygienic design, and site standards on equipment design and plant layout 
  • Drive the Vendor Management Program including Food Safety, Biovigilance and Supplier Risk Assessments,
  • Actively participate in the factory's internal audit programme and key external audits including ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, Regulatory and customer audits.
  • Ensure the performance of structured root cause analysis after incidents impacting release or other food safety-related deviations.
  • Own and deliver training related to the Food Safety Management System as is required.

ARE YOU A FIT?

  • You have Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Microbiology or equivalent.
  • You will have food manufacturing experience within the Quality Assurance area, with at least two years experience in Food Safety and HACCP
  • SAP experience will be highly regarded
  • We need you to be self-motivated and responsible, someone who enjoys working autonomously as well as in conjunction with a team.
  • You have excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • A proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and have Permanent Residency
