Position Summary

 

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Tax to establish and lead the tax function for Morocco and Algeria. This is a new role with a unique opportunity to build the tax operating model from the beginning, strengthen controls, set up sustainable ways of working with NBS and local teams, and ensure accurate, timely and compliant reporting across all relevant taxes.

The role will be central to ensuring that Nestlé’s compliance standards are embedded across the cluster, supporting direct tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, customs duty, tax audits, transfer pricing and potential tax policy initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Supply Chain, NBS, Coc, Zone/Central Tax teams and external advisors, while representing Nestlé with local tax and government authorities.

A DAY IN THE LIFE …

  • Establish the tax function, governance framework and controls for Morocco and Algeria.
  • Manage accurate and timely tax compliance, reporting and payment obligations across direct taxes, indirect taxes, withholding taxes and customs-related matters.
  • Set up and embed a sustainable NBS, CoC support model for ongoing compliance, reconciliations, documentation and reporting deadlines.
  • Lead and coordinate ongoing tax audits, authority queries, APA discussions and transfer pricing matters.
  • Represent Nestlé with local tax authorities, government bodies, advisors and auditors.
  • Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, NBS, Legal, business stakeholders and Zone/Central Tax teams to ensure alignment with Nestlé Group policies and local requirements.
  • Support tax policy work, new ways of working and continuous improvement initiatives where required.
  • Build tax awareness across relevant teams through guidance, training and practical support.

 

What Will Make You Successful

  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Minimum seven years of tax experience, with strong exposure to direct tax, indirect tax and withholding tax matters.
  • Experience in a tax consulting environment, preferably with a Big 4 or reputable advisory firm.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge and ability to manage audits, compliance obligations and authority interactions.
  • Good understanding of how to establish and run an effective tax function, including controls, policies, procedures and compliance governance.
  • Ability to work with SAP and understand finance and tax data flows relevant to reporting and compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to non-tax stakeholders.
  • Leadership mindset, team spirit, curiosity and eagerness to learn Nestlé ways of working.

 

Preferred Experience

 

  • Industry experience in a multinational environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Exposure to FMCG, manufacturing, supply chain or regional cluster structures would be an advantage.
  • Experience supporting or establishing an in-house tax function would be highly valued.
  • SAP, Excel and tax-relevant professional certifications are preferred.

Working Arrangements
