Position Summary

 

  • Lead and own production to ensure the plan is successfully achieved on time and in compliance with legal requirements meeting safety, quality, hygiene, cost and environmental needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) foundations and Total Performance Management (TPM).
  • Empower people to motivate and develop their capability.
  • Align and involve all the relevant functions in order to deliver production plans and sustainably, as well as meet the factory OMP (Operational Master Plan) in order to accelerate the business in support of its goals.

Safety, Health & Environment

You are responsible for:

  1. Leading by example for all site safety behaviours, complying and fulfilling the standards required (e.g. LOTO, SUSA, DRA, SHE Maps).
  2. Monitoring and coaching your team and leading them in maintaining and enforcing the safety standards (i.e. LOTO, SUSA, DRA, MHE and FLT).
  3. Actively participating in immediately resolving unsafe conditions using day-to-day problem solving tools and participating in site improvements (e.g. GSTDs, Incident Reports and Management).

Education & Training

You are responsible for:

  1. Ensuring your Competency Matrix and Development Plan are updated and on-track.
  2. Ensuring your team has Competency Matrices and Development Plans which are updated and on-track.
  3. Actively driving and anticipating the technical and developmental needs of your team across all shifts.

Leadership

You are responsible for:

  1. Leading by example as a coach and applying the GROW module.
  2. Ensuring all members of your team are regularly reviewed (‘check-in’) using the DPR process and that all objectives are SMARTly written and aligned to the site OMP.
  3. Ensuring all mandatory training of yourself and your team (e.g. iLearn and E-learn) modules are successfully completed at the required compliance level.

Advanced Nestle Continuous Excellence Practices

You are responsible (in alignment with the TPM steps) for:

  1. Leading by example and take an active role in all TPM activities in line with the TPM plan for the site.
  2. Ensuring adherence to Autonomous Maintenance standards (e.g. CIL, 5S, Centre Lining Inspection) and actively drive tagging resolution.
  3. Taking ownership and actively driving the resolution of elimination of Sources of Contamination (SOC). 
  4. Ensuring alignment between SAM and SAP data reports at the end of each shift.
  5. Coaching all members of your team to ensure that the problem statement part of the Breakdown Analysis (BDA) is accurate.

Focused Improvement

You are responsible (in alignment with the TPM steps) for:

  1. Leading and coaching GSTDs and drive the execution of actions.
  2. Leading the DMAIC project process.
  3. Supporting the Loss Tree Analysis (LTA) process to identify and prioritise losses, and give direction to your team in order to drive loss reduction.

Quality

You are responsible for:

  1. Leading by example for all GMP behaviours.
  2. Ensuring all members of your team effectively complete all quality checks (e.g. QMS, SAP checks).
  3. Actively enforce the GMP standards, including daily and weekly cleaning.

Finance

You are responsible for:

  1. Actively enforce the standards relating to variances on shift and adopt a proactive approach to reduce losses.
  2. Ensuring all Production Orders are closed in accordance with the BoMs to avoid continuous material variance and support stock control.
  3. Ensuring Nestle compliance regarding stock management.

People

You are responsible for:

  1. Taking ownership and enforcing all people related policies and procedures (i.e. attendance, grievance, disciplinary), as well as the Trade Union Recognition Agreement for the site.
  2. Proactively and professionally managing the attendance, sickness absence and ill-health rehabilitation of the people in your team across all shifts in accordance with the Company’s Attendance Management policy and procedure and Trade Union Recognition Agreement for the site.
  3. Proactively and professionally managing the time and attendance of the people in your team across all shifts in accordance with the site rules governing time management and working time (i.e. Nestle working time).
  4. Actively driving the recruitment, retention, developmental (DPR) and retirement opportunity needs of your team across all shifts.
  5. Ensuring Nestle compliance to Equal Opportunities and supporting a diverse workforce.
What will make you successful

 

  • Ideally HND/Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing discipline
  • Previous experience of people and safety management (i.e. ILM, NVQ).
  • 3 years People Leadership experience
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene Qualification
  • Previous experience of working in FMCG
