Location: Barcelona, Spain

Position Summary

Provide strategic and tactical regulatory expertise to help bring Innovation & Renovation projects to the market through effective diplomatic communication with Marketing, Legal, Purchasing, Intermarket, Public Relations, Quality Assurance and Technical Services. 

Use extensive knowledge of national and international regulations along with expert interpretive skills to minimize negative regulatory impact upon the business. 

Utilize strong communication and negotiation skills in conjunction with an understanding of European rules to promote the global business interests of NPPE (Nestlé Purina EMENA).   

A day in the life of...

Manage the development of effective and accurate labelling, advertising and promotional materials for NPP EMENA, in concert with sound science and labelling policies, proactive application of appropriate European regulations and FEDIAF guidelines, and consideration for prevailing competitive practices.

Provide comprehensive technical expertise, risk assessments and solutions for product labelling, nutrition and regulatory issues.

Influence Innovation & Renovation initiatives by continual interaction with key departments and provide strategic regulatory input and risk assessment for claims.

Represent NPP EMENA at National & European Trade Association level in dedicated working groups (feed materials / additives / nutrition / labelling / environment - sustainability)

Actively contribute to external advocacy, with possible involvement in Import/Export briefs

Stay abreast of RSA trends through involvement with outside organizations, professional contacts, periodicals, books, seminars, etc.

 Be the recognized sounding board for relevant departments on RSA matters (product labelling issues & questions, export / import, etc.) Mentor and coach less experienced staff as assigned, give support for RSA trainings, and ensure timely follow up and communication of assigned projects.

What will make you successful

Background as a Food Engineer, BS or MS in Food Science, Veterinarian or related sciences field

3+ years of experience in the pet care or food industry regulation (QM / RSA / Veterinarian).

English fluency is required a second language would be preferred

Ability to work in team environment

Proven experience in the specific field of Petcare

Application of knowledge to different business problems, Project management and writing skills
