As a Project Engineer, you are responsible for designing, planning, and managing production and building projects from concept through completion. You will develop project proposals and lead the installation, commissioning, and qualification of equipment through final performance approval. In this role, you schedule, plan, forecast, and manage technical activities to ensure projects are delivered accurately, on time, and to the highest quality standards from initial concept through final execution.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
  • Monitor compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and   specifications
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project team and key stakeholders
  • Propose and control the cost of the project in accordance with the Guidelines for Capital Investment
  • Propose and monitor the project in accordance with the key performance indicators
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions                                            
  • Prepare project specifications and bid packages
  • Evaluate the feasibility of conceptual projects and prepare detailed analysis, including time and cost for completion
  • Interface with outside contractors and award jobs
  • Communicate and report project status to management team
  • Complete change control documentation as needed                                                                                          
  • Set-up and troubleshoot equipment as necessary
  • Ensure that all projects are designed for the long term and result in a positive impact on the company ROIC
  • Ensure that all assets are well designed (i.e. plant layout, equipment selection etc.) and fit the business purpose through applying new technologies, proven principles, thorough design reviews and basic science
  • Ensure safe work and always minimize risk with installations that are easy to operate, clean and maintain while consistently manufacturing/distributing quality products
  • Ensure that when working with external engineering services, contractors, suppliers etc. the scope, deliverables, performance and milestones are clearly detailed and agreed up front
  • Ensure that a progress report is prepared for all projects monthly to ensure that the project scope is achieved within the agreed cost and timing
  • Ensure that the operators, mechanics, electricians etc. are effectively trained and that the transfer of the equipment to production is both smooth and efficient
  • Complete a final report on all projects and ensure that this is circulated to the key stakeholders

 

Education & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field Required. (Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering)
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a technical field in a food or beverage manufacturing facility- Preferred

  • Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety and equipment

The approximate pay range for this position is $90,000- $105,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
