Position Summary

 

The LATAM Solution Architect is overall responsible for the balance between technological opportunities and business requirements and maintains the holistic view of the organisation’s strategy, processes, information and IS/IT assets. S/he ensures the linkage across business mission, strategy and processes to the IS/IT strategy. The LATAM Solution Architect is the guarantor of simplicity, agility and speed of consuming the  IS/IT ecosystem architecture.  S/he ensures relevant digital design templates are available and used effectively by product groups and platforms to optimize time to value and leverage the defined business capabilities, information, IS/IT products/platforms. The  LATAM Solution Architect is accountable for partnering with Global Enterprise architecture on principles and standards, and incorporating the needs of regional IT and the business for technical design practices.  S/he is responsible to build a community of practice for architects, in the region, and grow capabilities of the group ensuring support for digital transformation and business innovation, in alignment with the Global Enterprise architecture team. In addition, s/he, will contribute to the wider Nestlé Architecture community of practice and work in collaboration with the Global Enterprise Architecture to meet global Architecture objectives and build the community.

A day in the life of...

 

Strategy:

 Under the supervision of the Regional Head of CIO Office and guidance of her/his Architecture Community of Practice Lead:
• Manages governing principles to guide architecture decision making. Ensures that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities (such as handling waivers) are associated with technical architecture and integration
• Ensures identification and analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential effect on the enterprise and facilitate their testing with the Innovation team and the Product Managers
• Provides inputs and expertise to the Office of the CIO and to Product Managers (functional & geographical, i.e. LATAM RBTMS and BRMs) for budget definition and allocation of investments to meet business initiatives while optimizing the overall EA
• Oversees and coaches the different Markets in the Region for the creation of local and regional plants set up

 

Stakeholder Engagement:
• Develops and maintains relationships with other enterprise leaders to understand current and emerging business needs on global, regional and local levels
• Oversses the delivery of comprehensive communications to convey architectural direction and how it aligns with enterprise strategies
• Works with IS/IT colleagues to ensure they have the appropriate information and knowledge at hand to be successful in what they do, in particular leads the Architect Community and supports their professionalization


 

Partner Delivery Management:
• Supports the design of the criteria for supplier evaluation, comparison and selection, and collaborates with sourcing for assessing vendor viability and risk in relation to target EA
• Influences strategic IS/IT partners in order to align their strategic direction to Nestlé's requirements (current and future)

 

Operational effectiveness:
• Partners with business and technology subject-matter experts to ensure that the translation of business requirements into technological solutions take into account the current and target EA (Enterprise Architecture) for optimal results for both business and IS/IT
• Analyzes the current IS/IT environment to detect critical deficiencies or gaps to strategy and recommends solutions for improvement
• Collaborates on IS/IT workforce management, including the sourcing, training and development of staff to secure that the EA is understood and servicing at best the product groups and the overall company


 

Value Delivery Monitoring:
• Monitors key business performance indicators to ensure IS/IT product groups and platforms are aligned to business and IS/IT objectives
• Supports the design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of special projects such as mergers, acquisitions or divestitures
• Oversees EA implementation and ongoing refinement activities

 

Leadership:
• Develops high performing teams and in alignement with the People process cycle and the 5 people practises:
• Creates the context: create alignment, lead by example, promote an open culture and our values in a sustainable way. (Sustain the change)
• Selects talent: recruit and onboard people and plan capabilities for the future.
• Develops people: coach, define effective (70-20-10) development plan and asses talent, building the right capabilities for the team and for the organization long-term success. 
 

What will make you successful

 

 

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in at least two IS/IT disciplines (such as infrastructure or security management, application development, middleware, information analysis) in a multitier environment and at least 5 years of experienci as a Solutions Architect
• Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex ISIT solutions, products and platforms
• Experience in the area of digital business and technologies. 
• Demonstrated experience in leading projects and initiative. Building trust and motivating others to act to achieve goals. Providing leadership and guidance through influence and coaching. Inspires stakeholders in the possibilities of digital technology. Has the experience to motivate, energize and drive performance from teams (direct or matrix management).
• Experience communicating effectively at different levels in the organization in English
• Experience working in a global environment and with virtual teams
• Demonstrated experience with business process and performance modeling, benchmarking, and financial analysis
