The role:
The Senior Manager Information Technology – Data Platforms and Integrations is accountable for platform sustainability, reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency while delivering scalable data engineering services aligned to business functions and enterprise priorities. The role ensures platforms are optimized to support enterprise data, analytics, and AI capabilities efficiently, while also leading the sustain function so steady-state data assets are continuously monitored, maintained, optimized, and governed for quality, availability, and business continuity. This position is based in Mexico and will partner closely with NUSA business leaders, security, procurement, vendor management, and regional/global IT stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
As a Senior Manager Information Technology – Data Platforms and Integrations you will:
- Define and execute the strategy, roadmap, and operating model for NUSA’s data platforms and integrations in accordance and alignment with Globe and Zone direction, enterprise architecture standards, global platform strategies, and long-term business priorities.
- Lead the delivery and operation of scalable data platform capabilities that enable ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, access, integration, analytics, AI readiness, and data product delivery across the enterprise.
- Ensure seamless integration across upstream data sources and downstream systems, including business applications, analytics platforms, reporting environments, data products, and enterprise services.
- Oversee data engineering services that deliver reusable pipelines, frameworks, standards, and automation aligned to business functions while reducing duplication, technical debt, and delivery friction.
- Lead platform sustainability and reliability, including availability targets, performance management, capacity planning, observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, operational readiness, and business continuity.
- Lead the sustain function for steady-state data assets, ensuring continuous monitoring, maintenance, optimization, data quality, support governance, SLA adherence, and effective escalation across internal teams and outsourced vendors.
- Drive platform optimization and cost efficiency by managing cloud consumption, vendor services, compute/storage utilization, support models, lifecycle management, and opportunities to rationalize or migrate localized assets to standardized global platforms.
- Partner with enterprise architecture, security, privacy, data governance, and global platform teams to embed standards for access controls, lineage, metadata, quality, auditability, compliance, interoperability, and responsible AI enablement.
- Establish operating metrics and executive reporting for platform health, integration performance, delivery throughput, service levels, data availability, data quality, cost, risk, business continuity, and value realization.
- Lead cross-functional teams, managed service partners, and vendor relationships to deliver reliable operations, engineering excellence, modernization initiatives, and measurable business outcomes.

What will make you a great fit?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Management, Business Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in information technology, data engineering, data platforms, integration architecture, analytics platforms, IT operations, or related technology leadership roles.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams, vendors, managed services, delivery portfolios, production operations, or cross-functional technology programs.
- Demonstrated experience defining and executing data platform, integration, or data engineering strategies that support enterprise analytics, AI/ML, reporting, and data product capabilities.
- Strong understanding of modern data platforms and technologies such as Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI, SQL, cloud-native data services, orchestration tools, APIs, event-driven integration, and monitoring/observability tools.
- Experience leading platform reliability, production support, incident and problem management, SLA governance, operational readiness, monitoring, business continuity, cost optimization, and vendor-managed operations.
- Strong knowledge of data integration patterns, data pipelines, batch and streaming processing, data access patterns, data quality, metadata, lineage, governance, security, privacy, auditability, and compliance.
- Ability to align business needs, enterprise architecture standards, global platform direction, financial stewardship, and operational priorities into a clear roadmap and execution plan.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, communicate technical strategy clearly, manage ambiguity, lead change, and drive accountability across matrixed business, IT, vendor, and global teams.
- Strong leadership, people development, stakeholder management, vendor management, financial management, executive communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading enterprise data platform modernization, lakehouse architecture, data warehouse modernization, cloud migration, integration strategy, or data product platform enablement.
- Experience governing outsourced vendors, managed service providers, L2/L3 support teams, offshore delivery teams, platform engineering teams, or data engineering delivery partners.
- Experience with ITSM and operational excellence practices such as ITIL, ServiceNow, incident command, post-incident reviews, change management, release management, runbooks, operational dashboards, and service reporting.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization, FinOps, platform rationalization, lifecycle management, technical debt reduction, automation, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and developer productivity improvement.
- Exposure to AI-ready data foundations, MLOps enablement, feature engineering, semantic layer enablement, vector search, data contracts, data observability, or metadata-driven automation.
- Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, Snowflake SnowPro, or related cloud/data platform credentials are a plus.
