The role
Join the Nestle IT North America Innovation Team as a Sr Specialist IT Innovation and drive applied innovation in quantum computing and data science to create causal inference and what-if analysis solutions that unlock measurable business value for Nestlé.
What you’ll do
- Partner with business functions to identify high-value decision problems where causal inference, what-if analysis, optimization and quantum approaches can improve outcomes.
- Translate business questions into testable hypotheses, causal frameworks and measurable use cases; deliver at least one meaningful prototype or analysis iteration every sprint.
- Build production-ready or near-production prototypes quickly, ideally within 2–4 weeks for a first version, using sound statistical and engineering practices.
- Connect externally to bring different perspectives. Engage partners, startups and academia to evaluate quantum and advanced analytics methods and turn the most promising ones into demonstrable prototypes.
- Quantify impact, communicate trade-offs clearly, and prioritize solutions that can scale and meet ROI expectations.
Minimum qualifications:
- Strong data science / ML foundation with Python, statistical modeling, experimentation and applied analytics
- Causal inference, causal AI, quasi-experimental methods and what-if / scenario analysis
- Quantum computing fundamentals across annealing, quantum-inspired optimization and gate-based approaches
- Software engineering / MLOps / DevOps and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on experience with Qiskit or comparable quantum SDKs: Quantum annealing and digital annealers for optimization use cases, Gate-based algorithm development and hybrid quantum-classical workflows, Optimization, operations research, simulation and decision intelligence, Knowledge of algorithms such as QAOA, VQE or related quantum optimization methods
- Causal graph modeling, uplift modeling and treatment effect estimation
- Bayesian methods or probabilistic modeling
- AI agents / GenAI for analyst productivity and decision-support workflows
- Supply chain, manufacturing, pricing, revenue growth management or commercial analytics domain experience
- Experiment design, A/B testing and quasi-experimental evaluation at scale
- Edge AI / efficient models for operational environments
- Ability to compare quantum approaches rigorously against classical baselines
