POSITION SUMMARY 

The Electro-Mechanical Technician supports day-to-day manufacturing operations by maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment. Working alongside experienced technicians, the Electro-Mechanical Technician troubleshoots equipment issues, completes preventive maintenance, and supports improvements that keep production running safely and efficiently. This role provides an opportunity to build hands-on technical skills while contributing to safety, quality, and teamwork on the plant floor. 

 

SHIFT / SCHEDULE DETAILS 

2nd Shift: 2pm-10:30pm

Shift Differential: $1.75

Sign-on Bonus: $9,000

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, align, and improve complex equipment integrating electrical, electronic, instrumentation, automation, and mechanical systems. 

• Diagnose failures, establish safe conditions, restore equipment to standard, verify function, and communicate equipment status and risks to Operations and Maintenance leadership. 

• Execute preventive, predictive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance to required quality standards and basic-finish dates in support of key plant indicators, including safety, quality, and cost. 

• Participate in parts-purchase requests, equipment installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, line improvements, and other activities as assigned. 

• Support operators with CIL, centerlining, restoration of basic conditions, defect identification, and technical skill development without transferring maintenance accountability. 

• Provide guidance to less-experienced technicians and tool partners while following site-authorization requirements. 

• Use digital tools and tablets to enter data into SAP/Prometheus and other online systems. 

• Execute all maintenance work in accordance with food safety, people safety, GMP, organizational, and statutory requirements. 

• Close SAP/AMM or Prometheus work orders accurately. Create notifications for defects, temporary repairs, and risks. Use condition-monitoring data and equipment history to improve preventive maintenance, maintenance procedures, BOMs and spare parts, and recurrence prevention. 

 

REQUIREMENTS 

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. 

• Level 2: Associate degree or technical certificate in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electro-mechanical technology, or a related field, and three to five years of relevant work experience; manufacturing experience preferred. 

• Ability to pass a respirator fit test. 

 

SKILLS 

• Service, rebuild, and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems; chain and belt drives; bearings, bushings, shafts, couplings, gearboxes, motors, pumps, valves, seals, gaskets, fasteners, and power-transmission components. 

• Basic mechanical knowledge, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical-drive systems, plus utility systems such as air, steam, and refrigeration. 

• Basic PLC troubleshooting, including input/output hardware, motors, sensors, drives, basic electrical circuits, and device-communication networks. 

• Basic electrical skills, including interpreting the National Electrical Code, working with power systems and distribution up to 480 V, and troubleshooting motor-control and safety circuits. 

• Familiarity with instrumentation and field devices, including analog and discrete devices and test equipment such as an ammeter and megohmmeter. 

• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics and use common testing tools. 

• Willingness to learn, follow safety and food-safety procedures, and work as part of a team. 

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

 

ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROLS OR PREFERRED SKILLS 

Advanced PLC/HMI diagnostics, servo motion, industrial networks, process instrumentation and calibration, historian and trend analysis, robotics, machine vision and inspection, predictive technologies such as vibration and leak-detection systems, precision maintenance, fabrication, welding, rigging, root-cause analysis, preventive-maintenance optimization, and commissioning experience are preferred. 

Hands-on working knowledge of liquid-processing lines, including storage and transfer systems, high-shear mixing, homogenizers, heat exchangers, pumps, sanitary valves, instrumentation, CIP, and process interlocks; cup and bottle filling, sealing, capping, labeling and coding, conveyors, case packing, robotics, palletizing, and inspection systems; and meat grinders, screw conveyors, kettles and cooker-coolers, mixers and blenders, pumps, weighing, transfer, and packing systems is preferred

 

Pay: $29.50 - $36.00 per hour
